Is it possible that one could just be a lucky person and not a skillful poker player? After looking at my poker career and all the hands I have made, the two bad beat jackpots I’ve won, the rare events, the royal flushes/straight flushes/quads after it all....it makes me stop and look at my life and I see it all over again, born with gifts other adore, been put in situations which others only dream off. After it all... I ask....am I just lucky?
Poker is a combination of luck and skill. There are situations where one factor influences another more, but in the end both are important in the end. Generally one prepares is to improve skills because luck is unknown when it accompanies you or the villain.

Obviously there are strategies that must be known in the game of poker, that work. Without them it would be very difficult to be successful in this game. However, luck never ceases to be a determining factor.

Which also

One hand has a strong element of luck, but if you play for a long time, skill becomes important because it converges.

I always lose with any hand.I don't know what to do. It's just incredible. How can you play so many tournaments every day. And every day in any tournament you are unlucky. The laws of mathematics do not work for me. Thousands of tournaments are the same. I have passed this 1000 times. Now if I I will play every day, I will lose every day in any tournament, it can last for months, years. I don’t know why, but this is how their poker works against me.Peace to all

Analiza mejor tu juego

You should focus on having a more solid game and playing safer hands. It depends on the type of tournaments you play, try to close your range of hands a little more.

Howdy! Whew, baby. Poker skill or luck? I would say PF, Flop, Turn is skill, but that darn river is which ever way it wants to flow.

yes to both, you may be the most skilled player but that does not mean you will win everytime you play. So there is an element of luck, for example, lets say you have the nuts and everyone folds, what do you win? almost nothing, now lets say you have the nuts and you have a couple people with decent hands and stay in, thats where your lucky to have callers.

Is poker luck or skill?

Playing poker profitably requires both luck and skill. I have actually been thinking about this a lot lately because of some experiences recently on the felt. I have come to the conclusion that I would much rather be lucky than skilled. This doesn't mean that I won't continue to study and do all the things to improve my game but luck helps a great deal, especially when it comes to MTTs. I am extremely unlucky on flips so I can't afford to slack off when it comes to the skill building aspects of playing poker. It's extremely frustrating sometimes experiencing so many bad beats but I always look for the silver lining. There is always the next tournament and the percentages have to eventually play out as expected. You just have to keep ginding.

It is impossible to say unequivocally that luck or skill prevails in poker, since only by comparing these two factors can you receive winnings and awards for a particular tournament.

The main reason poker is a game of skill and not luck is that, unlike all other casino games, your main opponents are other people and not the house itself.

There is indeed a combination of skill and luck, we just have to be patient and wait for the right time.
