I have tried meditation, but i do not find it as effective as just listening to music with fast beats quite loudly! I got ADHD and i got a really hard time trying to convcentrate on the meditation but that music just keeps my mind fresh and clear!

Personally I think that all the tools that one can find and then use them to improve in poker, are more than welcome.
Unfortunately I have not been able to contact a specialist in game psychology. So for the moment, I try to build my own psychological structure, based on the gaming experiences I've had and also studying my mistakes.
I do not rule out the possibility of outside help, but now my goal as a player is to continue to shape my game, either in theory or in practice. And in how much aspect that exists in poker, I consider that it is of fundamental importance.
The book that I would like to read about this topic? "The Poker Player Mindset - Taylor / Hilger"
Greetings.

Great Book, even better as audio book...

Sounds silly but I've let this play as I've fallen to sleep more than a few times...

Also another great book that Player Mindset mentions is "Thinking, Fast and Slow" by Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences laureate Daniel Kahneman, This book is so valuable not only in poker but in every aspect of life...

The Cognitive Biases explained here give you great bluffing Advantage, opening the doors to Social Engineering and Neuro-linguistic programming... all very important when selling some one the image you create...

meditation

I did a little meditation, but then the objective reasons for a long time postponed this fascinating and useful exercise. Most of all it helped me to develop my inner potential, understanding the importance of the factor of stable emotional state. Be patient is one of the key moments in the game, especially when playing in long tournaments .A when playing cash is simply an indispensable factor in the game. Meditation allows you to look inside your playing personality, to formulate and ask the right questions about the self-improvement not only of your personality, but also as a person playing. It helps to open up oneself to the full, to use all the internal mechanisms of self-control and the correct flow of aggression in the game. It helps to look at ourselves and objectively evaluate our game and identify all problem areas in the game, all our mistakes. And it does this, of course, due to the ideal psycho-emotional state, which in the only way possible allows you to take the right actions at the game table and feel the changes in same condition from other players.:pcguru::pcguru::pcguru:

I started doing Yoga about a month ago.

Last week i implemented it in my Poker Sessions (5 Minute Tournamentbreaks), i won´t say that i´m more sucessfull now, but that little stress out ever so often just releases stress quite good.
So if not for any good, i atleast didnt Tilt anymore.

Not to mention the positive effect on my Body Balance and Fitness.

Maybe you wanna give it a try to.

In martial arts they say that if there is no strength of mind, then muscle strength will not help.
so in poker. The mood for the game and the victory is important by any means[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

I understand all your thoughts, as I myself am in a similar position. Meditation helps me a lot in analyzing my poker game and in analyzing my life situation. Everyone has their own path and their own obstacles to poker success.;)

Yoga in the list of my desires is already half a year old, but for now it is impossible for reasons beyond my control. Hope this will change soon.;)

Poker Meditation

Sometimes, when we are felling down is better stop to play poker and take a time to think about our life in general, like family, friends, the country we are living, e.g. If we practically this regularly we can take great results-

Can anyone suggest a book or a youtube vlog? I get the idea but it's difficult to find actual material about it.

All restores our emotions and also helps focus is highly valued in Poker as in a play with more emotion or pot under control we lose a tournament or waste chips won.

I respect this quest for balance meditation is indeed a good tool for the poker player who wants to get good results

I would have thought it certainly helps against tilt. The more calm and less emotional you can be about you decisions at the table the better you will be.

For me it did. One time in particular I was on tilt after I became the MTT chip leader after having less than 10BB. Shove and fold had been 100% successful for me. I was on a happy tilt, and then forgot to adjust my play being the chip stack so with 3 tables left, I tried to bully the second big stack with KK going all in preflop. He called with KQoff. Wtf? Any way, bad beat. He got me with a flush and I was back down to 10 BB again. I folded the next 2 hands without looking to meditate at the table to not tilt after that bad beat. Then shove and fold method had me survive till final table, took 9th finish/145 players. If it wasn’t for the bad beat I had a better chance of winning. However I would have not made final table if it was not for meditation. 🙏🏼

To concentrate in the game, you need to separate yourself from your own thoughts. Our brain works in such a way that it can generate new ideas only when it is not busy processing a large amount of information already received.
Meditation - cleansing from thoughts, eliminates all the garbage of negative emotions! I am also interested in this topic!

I have not written here about meditation for a long time. Since there is nothing special about it, I am very pleased with the meditation and its results. Now I really want to go vipassana. If there is experience with passing, please share.;)

Good evening everyone.
After I started playing poker, I got a lot of emotional self-control, I improved a lot on concentration.
I am not a fan of practicing meditation.

Tips from meditation.

Have any one got some type of tips of which cards you need to play trough meditation? if yes, please share!
I am gonna admit that trough meditation a got that inexplicable message telling me the cards I have to play and I follow leading me to win 4th place at big fish freebuy at 888poker and 34th at casinorg pokerstars, then I tried to be smart changing some cards giving me losses, now I thinking seriously to start from the beginning playing the same cards that I have been told.

But how to start meditation? Can someone tell me their experience? What was the starting point? How often do you need to meditate? How long?
thanks

This is a very big topic. When people talk about meditation, usually they don’t understand what the word means. Television, marketers, have changed the meaning of the word. They say meditation - it’s a practice to maintain a good mood. But they are very mistaken. When we talk about meditation, the best way to find out about this is to refer to source sources, such as canonical texts ( "Ānāpānasati Sutta" , "Abhidharma" ). The best practice of meditation, is the practice of " śamatha ", this is the most simple and understandable method of achieving calm.
Beginners should practice for 10 minutes every day, in the future, meditation should last about 1 hour. This is a very wonderful feeling, which is a good tool to achieve peace of mind.

But give me a link to an article or video explaining what to do during these 10 minutes. If it’s not difficult for you. Thanks anyway for the answer
