Mindfulness
One of the best things you can do is take time to meditate, but from a psychological perspective this does not have to necessarily include emptying the mind like in Buddhism. A lot of times it is good to take in awareness of your current bodily sensations so that you can analyze what state you are in. This way if you are in an ideal state, you can internalize what that feels like and more easily return to that state when needed. Additionally if you recognize you are in a state alternative to ideal, you can purposefully direct your mind to a more ideal state. This can be particularly helpful with tilt control.
Ex. If you begin meditating after a bad beat online and notice you internal processes include muscle tensions and angry and negative thoughts, you can purposefully direct yourself to breath deeply, relax tense muscles and repeat logically-driven statements.
