I play a lot of PLO and although I have improved a lot
since I start but still find, post flop, then unless I have
the nuts I find it hard to where I am and I too play too
tight for my own good

whenever I flop top 2 pair I am always worried that
someone has flopped trips so I just bet or call although
I know this isnt the right thing to do I find PLO a hard
game to read, I am getting better but do play way too
tight

I read book and articles that always said raise and reraise
with AA pre flop and I used to do that, but when the flop
commes KKJ for example I dont know where the hell I am,
I either C bet and get called or re raised, or just call and
allow someone to hit

wow PLO is so complicated but I love it, I must be a
masachist

:)

ps this is a great idea for a thread, thanks :)

First hand, it is an easy raise on the flop. Against a set you have 42% equity and most times he shows up with a lot worse there. If he has 2 pair, we have 58% so its a get it in situation for me.

Second hand is a fold forme. I have no problem with how it was played but on the river villains virtually never bet anything other than a flush. I mean, if he has a straight he is either raising the flop or turn, most people also arent going to turn sets/2 pair hands into bluffs here, they would check those back on the river. I do not think you beat anything here.

Ok the thing about this hand is that

1) if we raise and he has A and we get it in, we are still essentially flipping

2) If we call, there is no good turn/river card

I probably take the nit approach and call the flop and re evaluate on turn and river. You could probably call 2 streets but definitely not 3.

Am I just really nitty/stupid or is the pre-flop call kinda loose facing a 3-bet, out of position, with two still left to act behind us?

Nah, it is perfectly fine and in some cases can even be a 4 bet.. Oh and we were last to act so we know we arent getting 4 bet.

Appreciate the responses,

My first thought was that there's no point calling this flop because any card on the turn will put me in a bad spot.

So guys what would do in such a situation?

Get it in on the flop? He prolly has AKxx, AQxx or maybe AJxx.
Call every streets? Though chances of him improving are high.
Fold on the flop? -Since it essentially a coinflip.
Shove turn? - He's gonna bet any turn with trips, right?

Not completely a coin flip... Isn't it more like 60 40? And if he does happen to have a K it is like 2 to 1 or something. Although I guess we are drawing dead to 2 hands. Personally I just like to throw money around.

uh no, it's like 170+ pages, at least in physical form.

I don't suggest publicly posting that you're going to download it either!

Nova attempt update.
I'm no where near on pace, but knew I wouldn't be for now. I just cant pass up the $ of playing my normal tables and sites. But I've already earned more vpp's than all last year and the milestone bonuses also, obv.

Still 9-12 tabling when playing stars and playing at least 1/2+ $.25 table now, so winrate> being on pace imo. I did transfer a small amount and binked a a few decent small tourny scores. So rolled for 25 on site now, but still getting used to it. I've found I can AVG 200vpp's with minimal time invested. So I just need to devote more time.

So the attempt will go on. If I can progress as planned I'll be more than able to make up the vpp's I'm behind. I think tablenija is a must to get. It will just make things easier. And still going to look for a table mod, but am satisfied with the theme I'm using for now.

Anyone mass table using cascade vs tiling? I'm used to the tiling, but think cascade may eventually be a better choice. Any thoughts?

OK marg, I got one for ya.

I was playing some mixed games and PLO is totally my worst game.

CO is a maniac basically just trying to give me money. SB I dont have much history with. Is this OK 4 handed?

Obvs once I 4 bet I cant fold. I have a feeling its fine but, ya know, Im a newb at PLO.

No it is not exactly fine because CO is not the one raising you. It is a much better situation to call the 3 bet in position and play the flop. If he has AAxx which is the only thing that gets it in here, you are really badly crushed without much else in terms of draws.

Hmm. Interesting, even 4 handed?.

So just call the 3 bet and play 3 way post flop. What kind of flops do I wanna see here?
