I moved to Chiang mai this week. So far I'm preferring it to Bangkok. It's a nice green sunny city in the mountains as opposed to the urban smoggy jungle that is bangkok.

I like my new flat better than my last one. I'll be staying here 10 days til I move in to a set of three houses with 8 other players. Most of all I've got over my initial jetlag which hampered bangkok for me some what. Oh ye and the tv has a VGA for playing poker on and American tv rather than loads of asian channels.

I will try and update this a bit more regularly. I was going to do it daily but the jetlag I had really threw me off course. I should be going out tomorrow with the people I'll be living with November. I'll be sure to take some photos.

That chair looks so uncomfortable to grind the hours but flat do looks better than last one and room looks little bigger (or more space available).

Having a hard time getting some proper volume in with various internet, database and windows 8 problems popping up on an almost daily basis.
Not sure how you manage to grind, usually when out on a new cowntry/city want to spend outside most of the time to see everything and by the time get back to room are exhausted and just want to rest/sleep, add that internet/W8 issues should be a pain.

Moar pix!

Loving the view, and just the pic of the comp full of tables has me itching to grind myself. Love the 3b bluff on the turn, but curious why we're not just cbetting here. Expecting to get bluff raised a ton and not be able to rep shit?

Not half. Not really worth me getting a new one when I'm only here a week longer. I've rolled up a pillow behind it for now.

The villain was the preflop raiser, I planned to check/fold the flop.

Met up with 3 of the 8 people I'll be moving in with last night. Started off with a meal at a restaurant. Well 2 meals for me, if each meal comes to less than £2 why not :p. Food was good I had chicken and Octopus fried noodles as well as stir fried Shrimp.

(I'm furthest to the right).

We then went on to a bar where I got a £5 fish bowel of rum and vodka and learnt to play Chinese open faced poker. It's a pretty fun game I'd highly recommend. When you play poker up to 30hours a week playing NLHE can get quite dull.

Next was the "warm-up bar". This is a place the posh Thai people go so it was pretty devoid of westerners bar ourselves. It had a nice layout where there was 2 rooms, one with a live rock band and another with a DJ and club music. I'm more of the band type myself so listened to the bands set which was almost entirely British Rock consisting mostly of the Arctic Monkeys, Oasis and the Beatles. Was surprising to see someone do a very good job of the Manchester and Sheffield accented singing when I'd assume English is not their first language.

We then finished off at "Spicy" a club where I'm told every single girl there is a prostitute  . I didn't stay long I was pretty worn down at this point, got some Beef fried rice and called it a night. Was an enjoyable 9 hours of drinking I'm still recovering from. I will get grinding later tonight.

Last pic, can't tell if that's a really sparse shirt, or a very large plastic bag...

In any case - nice to hear you're having a good time!! Keep us updated and such. Also, idk if you do sweats really, since most of your grind has to be pretty legit... But I'd be interested in sweating you sometime to watch a somewhat higher level of play than what I get to participate in regularly.

A buddy of mine plays music regularly near Krabi, so if you get down that way, let me know, I will get the address from him. He dont play poker, but plays good music.

He stayed a while in Chiang Mai and loved it.

I should really stop turning the bottom of my range in to a bluff. Not sure if this guy misread the board or not.

poker stars $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players -

BTN: $87.00
SB: $100.00
BB: $110.00
UTG: $108.48
MP: $196.32
Hero (CO): $100.50

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is CO with 2  A
1 fold, MP raises to $2, Hero calls $2, 1 fold, SB calls $1.50, 1 fold

Flop: ($7.00) 6 :club: A :diamond: 7 :spade: (3 players)
SB checks, MP bets $5, Hero calls $5, SB calls $5

Turn: ($22.00) 4 :spade: (3 players)
SB checks, MP checks, Hero checks

River: ($22.00) 3  (3 players)
SB checks, MP checks, Hero bets $15, SB folds, MP calls $15

Final Pot: $52.00
MP mucks 8  8 :spade:
Hero shows 2  A  (a pair of Aces)

Lol. What were we expecting to be beat by there - just better aces mostly? I know I play at a lol-soft place, but if I'm in that spot I'm pretty sure my hand is good and I check behind for my showdown value.

I think the SB has a better ace like 90% of the time. Calling 99 or something there seems too loose but maybe that's from my nitty perspective.

Ok actually that's fair. I was thinking more about MP's range, and forgot to consider the fact that SB's three checks don't exclude the chance of an A, which looking now, seems pretty decent. And assuming it's not a very strong A or two pair with an A he's definitely not leading river (and maybe not leading with two pair, cause of the runout).

Rented a bike today. Never drove one before. Odds on me living over a month? :p

Just been driving around the empty streets the last 2hours. On an adrenaline rush that was so fun. I did drive down the wrong side of a one way street twice, probably for the best I waited till 2am to start driving :p

Been trying to balance my check/calling ranges lately. Put a few stronger hands within them I can easily call two barrels with.

Poker Stars $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

BTN: $125.53
Hero (SB): $126.49
BB: $100.00
UTG: $100.00
MP: $127.64
CO: $128.13

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is SB with A :diamond: 8 :club:
4 folds, Hero raises to $3, BB calls $2

Flop: ($6.00) 6 :spade: J :club: 4 :diamond: (2 players)
Hero bets $3.78, BB calls $3.78

Turn: ($13.56) A :spade: (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $10, Hero calls $10

River: ($33.56) 2 :spade: (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $22, Hero calls $22

Final Pot: $77.56
Hero shows A :diamond: 8 :club: (a pair of Aces)
BB shows Q  4  (a pair of Fours)
Hero wins $74.76
(Rake: $2.80)

^ I actually really like that there.

I was watching a video the other day that was talking about cbet %s and how the average has probably decreased a lot over this year as a lot of winning regs are balancing x/c and x/r ranges a lot more.
