Also picked up some albums to take with me I've never listed to. Been really getting in to classic rock lately so I've gone with the greatest hits albums of the Doors, the Stranglers, Jethro Tull, Neil Young and White Snake as well as getting a few more Black Sabbath, Hendrix and Iron Maiden albums.

I think you are young, like mid 20's, and find it great that you are into older rock.

In case you dont know them, I will give some faves of mine. Not all are really stereotypical rock bands (like The Eagles, one of my all time faves, but not typical classic rock) but IMO cant go wrong as far as good song writing and simply good music go.

Aerosmith, Buffalo Springfield, older Springsteen (The Born to run album is great, not so into his newer stuff) older Billy Joel, Doobie Brothers, Crosby, Stills and Nash (as well as C,S,N and Young), ZZ Top, Boston, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan and if I dont stop here, I can go on forever. The 60's and 70's were so great musically.

As I stated earlier, I know a couple of peeps in Thailand. Both musicians as well (as I am). One in Bangkok, and one in Krabi. So if you want, PM me and I can hook you up. They are both older guys, so not so cool for you if you are looking for someone to party with, but they know the inns and outs.

Other than metal and the prodigy, I'd be hard pushed to find much in the way of 21st century music in my library. There's so much 70's rock, 80s punk & new wave, and 90's rave for me to get through I'm horrificly out of touch with modern music for a 24 year old. I didn't even know who Jessy J was till I saw the Olympics ceremony. My life isn't any better now I know :p

Billy Joel, Floyd and the Eagles were in my last round of albums. Particularly liked Floyd, weren't sure whether to go with Echoes or Pulse as they both looked like greatest hits albums, glad I went with Echoes as the title song is one of the best songs on there.

Got my bags packed. Setting off tomorrow.
Been really shit for volume this month getting everything ready for my flight and getting drinks in with people before I leave.

My month so far, been trying not to look at results but it's better than I thought as I figured that last session had hit me a lot harder. Running at EV which is nice for a change.

I should be back to grinding Wednesday once I'm over my jetlag. I'll post some photos of Bangkok and where I'm staying, make this thread a little more Thai and a little less poker.

I researched some visa info for Thailand and it seems the longest option without a non tourist visa is 60 days but that is upon request and may not be granted? how long do you intend to stay Deco? I know places with much longer amount of being able to stay, but this is from my perspective with Lithuanian citizenship the max stay is 6 months and there's not much places offering this long of a stay they include only, canada, mexico, Georgia, and Bermuda...

I picked up a 60day tourist visa from the thai consulate in my city. Just before Christmas I can extend it by 2weeks before I go home to visit the family. I can then get another visa with up to 2 reentries for a total of 180 days. Every 60 days everyone here has to do a border run were they get a bus to cambodia or Vietnam then return with a refreshed visa.

Bout time I did a trip report for day1.
Flights were good and bad, the flight to norway I got a whole row to myself on the plane. My god Norway was expensive though! Two slices of pizza is around £13, a ham and cheese sandwich was £5. Nicest airport I'd been in though. The second flight from Norway to Bangkok was awful. The Norse prices where still in effect seeing as I was flying with Norwegian airlines and they didn't serve lunch or dinner to anyone who hadn't prebooked it so I spent $20 on two cheese sandwiches and a bottle of water :(. I even ate the crusts when paying that much, that and I was sat next to a Buddhist monk who looked disappointed with me whilst I was eating round the crusts. Films weren't bad though finally got round to watching Avatar along with Argo.

Took a nap then headed out for sushi and some drinks with some people of 2+2. Food is so damn cheap here I'm defo going to put on weight. You can get a curry in a cafe for 80p. Went to a relatively expensive sushi bar where the sushi tasted completely different to anything I'd had in England. Drinks aren't particularly cheap but I'm hearing everything is less expensive in Chiang Mai than Bangkok.

My apartment is nice, it's costing me a mere £10 a night, has good air-con, isn't too far from the main road, has 3 other grinders living within the block, a balcony and a fridge I've loaded up with beer. Contemplated staying here but I think if I did I'd be going out every night and be getting no poker done. That and the internet is wank.

what a dumb rule.

I'm pretty sure people can get round the 180days easy enough. You do a border run but rather than just cross the border you need to find a Thai Embassy and apply for a new visa.

But ye it's dumb. I get the impression all this re-entry stuff is a loophole they've let slide to keep tourists hanging round longer.

Tried my hand at haggling for the first time.
Had the seller snap call my offer of 300THB for a shirt he'd originally asked 220THB for.

I should really get some sleep :/

If I get a thai bank account stars will convert my withdrawls to baht at the reuters exchange rate. There's a big catch I only just discovered though, they will block my uk card from depositing anf force me to withdraw all deposits made on that card. Given I deposited my entire roll before leaving this has derailed my conversion plans.

My backup is a travel credit card. I'll lose around 1% + a small fee on cash machine withdrawals. It's better than using my usual uk debit card were the rate is so bad I'd lose at around 20% of my money on each withdrawal.

Why would they force you to withdrawal your previous deposits? That's ridiculously stupid.

I have avoided withdrawing to credit cards used to deposit by just blocking that particular credit card.

it then allows me to withdraw through my bank account. Only thing is you cannot use that credit card to withdraw or deposit again.

Not sure if this is a similar situation but just thought I'd put it out there.

Probably to stop me using them as a free currency exchange service which is exactly what I had in mind. :p

I think I'm going to go ahead with it anyway, I can get by on just withdrawing my bonus/rakeback money each month and if I really need to top-up there's always moneybookers.

It's a bit problematic when making big purchases. I'm thinking of buying a scooter for getting around. Never rode one before and keep hearing tales of naive tourists getting injured or killed using them on the potholed, rule-less Thai roads but Chiang Mai doesn't have metered cabs like Bangkok so can't really think of any other way of getting round.

A bit of successful spew.
Hand 1 I really like the check raise but the turn call may be a bit light although villain is opening 85% of buttons.

Hand 2 I normally don't have a bluffing range in this spot as villains range is so rather king heavy but for the sake of balance I'm trying to throw in any Qx straight draw that makes it to the river for the KQ blocker. Doubt the blocker makes much difference but gotta pick my air somehow.

Thailand hasn't been so kind to me poker wise but hasn't been all that bad either. Having a hard time getting some proper volume in with various internet, database and windows 8 problems popping up on an almost daily basis.

Interesting hands of the day. Me getting owned by what I think is a great line by villain.
Followed by me throwing a turn 3bet bluff out there when someone decides to rep sweet fook all.
