Money games are tougher than freerolls.
Search Youtube for free coaches like Gripsed, they help you learn the game. If you use the new Bing AI it will direct you to many more.
It isessential that you know the game before wasting money. Otherwise you will be the fish knowledgeable players are waiting to take money from.

If you only play freerolls, you can win money without having to risk your own money, this is their big advantage. If you put together a larger fund from many small prizes, you can also enter larger competitions. And with this, development will also be unquestionable.

CardsChat is the biggest step in your learning curve <3
I came in with only the basic knowledge of the rules. Started grinding and playing with the most amazing people and players and 3 years later I am a different player <3
As far as studying goes, I gain more by watching, playing and reviewing the hands BUT what I think did the best for me was gaining platinum status here and playing with the same people everyday.
AS far as free money games, I do not find much purpose in them past learning the rules of the game. The way people play there will not really reflect cash games typically.

I think that the fictitious only serves to learn how to play the basics of poker, after that I think it's a waste of time, because when you play for real money the players change completely.

A turtle always makes progress, as long as she is moving, but an airplane will get there faster.

It's really hard, but the free tournaments of cards chat you are really helpful, so you can practice a lot with great platers and also win some money, it's a good beginning.

Looking at high level games you have to be very aggressive and using real money. Freerolls don’t prepare you for that. And in freerolls a lot of players take crazy risks that they would never do in a high stakes game.

If you can earn money without depositing, it's just more difficult. CC offers free tournaments, you should try.

Free play money games can be helpful in improving you game but the limitation in those games makes is very unhelpful more option that not. For a new player I think they are great to learn the basics of the game. If you want to try something out that's new for you its ok as well. I do think you would be better off playing free rolls over the play money games.

I play freerolls and thus increase my bankroll. I don't spend my own money on the game. Of course, I often encounter opponents who play all their hands in a row, but I have come to terms with this and just persistently continue to go to the goal and gradually increase my bankroll.

I think not, because the game played without being bet real money most of the time is not taken seriously, so there is no way you evolve, already the freeroll has as yes

I start playing online tables that bet real money. However, I am noticing that these games are not very satisfying, with there almost always being players that just go all-in preflop and then just buy back in. Is it a realistic goal to try and get good at poker without betting real money, or is it necessary to bet real money to get proper practice as people are actually playing with something to lose? Also curious as to what people think on what the balance should be between studying poker theory, such as calculating outs and pot odds, versus just playing the game to get

Playing without buyins is not so bad but if you want earn some big quick money it's not the way. If you play only freerolls you can built your bankroll but it's slow way. Personally i like play freerolls and S&G also tables. That's the way for hobby players like me.

It is better to play in freerolls. You will learn the game and earn real money. I think the training/play ratio should be about 50/50. Although few people learn so much.:)

Hi,
I am not a good poker player, but I like the game and want to get better at it. Currently I am playing on free poker apps like WSOP that don't require you to stake actual money, as I just know that I'll probably be a fish as soon as I start playing online tables that bet real money. However, I am noticing that these games are not very satisfying, with there almost always being players that just go all-in preflop and then just buy back in. Is it a realistic goal to try and get good at poker without betting real money, or is it necessary to bet real money to get proper practice as people are actually playing with something to lose? Also curious as to what people think on what the balance should be between studying poker theory, such as calculating outs and pot odds, versus just playing the game to get better.
I played free poker for 2 years in poker stars and that was really good for me, because I could develop the basic things and behaviors for a lucrative player.
I recommend you to start in fake chips!

You can start with freerolls, and then go to the level of the game at low limits, and climb higher

playing with real money without an understanding of the game is like setting your cash on fire. Futile.
