It depends on the situation, sometimes I play for play money to practice, then I play just like real money, otherwise I play so that it would not be boring

Poker is Poker and it does not matter whether you are playing for cash or play chips, if you don't play seriously, you will not learn anything, to become good at Poker we all have to learn different playing styles and adapt to different situations, if we cannot respond to a real bet or bluff from players how do you expect to win.
I always play for the fun the game gives me, win or lose it is all a degree of how well I played,if I make the money I have done well, making the final table then I played great, If I should win it then I have played Fantastic!
But we should not forget the number of other players that have gone out before us, Playing in an MTT against 1,000 other players and going out on the bubble is something you can feel pride in, simply because you might have beaten 800+ other players to get there, there is no shame in it, and there is no shame in playing for Play chips or real cash.
The only way we can learn how to play Poker, is to PLAY POKER! and the most important part is we take the game seriously even if it is for play chips.

When the fun Stops, STOP!

I take chip games less seriously. This is understandable. Everywhere there is a different style of play. I play freerolls aggressively. Real buy-ins are more serious. gambling chips from boredom most likely.

I don't play for play money, becuase other people don't take it seriously. I always try to play the game properly, what's the point otherwise. But you just can get a proper game for play money cos so many people just call and it's basically: who gets the best hand wins, which totally removes the option of bluffing and even any reason to estimate ranges since so many people are playing any-two-cards.
What's the point!

Good morning everyone, yes I take online poker very seriously, I am fully aware that poker can bring great returns.
I used to withdraw almost all the money I earn, the correct way is to always leave value in your bankroll and as your bankroll grows play Mtts with higher values.
I won a ticket on a twitch live, and I played a Mtt Championchip on 888poker , a $50 ticket, where I had over 8,000 players and I finished in 96 position and won $800, which I will keep to invest in my game.
The course I play at micro limits, where I'm profitable more without great results and when I play Mtts with higher values I have good results, Mtt I played from the beginning thinking about getting only on day 2 I thought it was a $50 Mtt, the players are better than me, since the beginning I was gaining chips and to my surprise I finished day 1 in 6th place in Mtt on day 1 and in 106th overall, on day 2 I had 1400 players and from 1000th onwards I already guaranteed $100, I thought about folding all hands to guarantee at least $100, but once again the game came on the 3rd hand I caught KK on the BB and villain with 10blinds goes All in, I won this hand and I was winning and the players were falling very fast and when there were 120 players left in hands, which is easy and I folded to guarantee more prizes, there was a hand that a villain with 10BB from the CO, goes All in and another player called me with 18BB from the BB with 99 fold and 2 players with with AQ, I stopped doubling my stack to secure more prizes, my last hand it wasn't 44 a villain with a lot of chips All on the SB or BTN and hero on the BB I weighed a lot and called with 7BB and villain with 97s on the river hits 9, but there's no way to complain I had 0.03 cents in my 888poker account and I won $800 , biggest prize to date.[/QUO

The discussion here is about play money poker, not online poker.

A player here who regularly took my chips when playing for money, claimed he would go to the play money tables, to try out different strategy or styles of play without having to actually losing any money.
I found the play to be so far inferior to even bingo free roll play that I found no value in playing there, except when I started, as a way to get used to individual sites setup & quirks. I do now & then play on poker Stars play money site as it allows U.S, players to compete against friends from other countries who cannot compete on various sites. Really enjoy these games, but there is no comparison between play & real money poker.

Like others, I use play money to get a feel for the software and to figure out the average personality of the site’s players. A lot of them are frustrated money players. Keep an eye on their chat to pickup hints about the money tables. Don’t believe what they say, or you’ll be writing a “poker is rigged” post.

hi

it is very clear that real money tournaments are better. There are all kinds of crazy players in the Free Tournaments from whom you can expect absolutely everything.

Yes seriously. I played them seriously in casinos, when it was possible to play slots for fan chips on pokerstars. I had 25,000 million, which I saved up in a week and lost everything in a day.

While I dont play the play money game , why would you not take it seriously. Yes it maybe a dont fest but its also a place where you can look and work on your game. Why would you not play your best play chips or not.

I don’t usually play at play money tables. I think a frivolous game can be going on there that makes it all uninteresting.
However, there are play money tournaments here on Cardschat and I take them very seriously because it is a prestige for me to win here. Fortunately, everyone takes it so seriously, so it's a great opportunity to enjoy the game here with our Cradschat friends together. :)

Hey! In general, it is impossible to perceive the game for conditional money. This is absurd, because people there do not lose anything, they play only for fun. When people play for real money, another level of play begins there. Therefore, if you play tournaments for conditional money, you should not even take it seriously, it will go while while away, but no more.
