Play chip poker is where I've learned most of my "skills". I have played millions of
hands on
poker stars using the play chips (because Americans are not allowed to play real money poker on Stars).
Without the play chips, I wouldn't be half the player I am today. Yes, it's kind of like riding a bicycle with the training wheels on, I know most say "play chip poker isn't real poker", and while I agree with that to a small degree, I think it's throwing the baby out with the bath water (to use a cliche). It's still poker, even if it isn't the toughest, hardest, most competitive poker ever. It's fun poker, sure... but I still learned so much by experimenting, trying different moves, and it also taught me how to read players, how to take effective notes, how to adjust to "crazy loose" players, etc
You can learn SO MUCH from play chips, and it is FREE. Good lord I will never understand the people who avoid it like the plague. Why? Don't you want a place where you can try out different strategies without losing any of your precious
bankroll in the process?
I love Poker Stars, they run ALL the game (I love to play Badugi, for instance, and there isn't another
poker site in the world that offers it except Stars). Perhaps other play chip sites do suck, but Stars is THE BEST.
