Do You Get Nervous When You Play?

I don't so much think its nervous as it is excitement! The rush of poker when you are hitting is fun.. Its why most play the game.. when the odds are holding up when you got the goods or your hitting some luck with 77 vrs AA or when you got them nutz.. its a rush! I try to remember the bank roll aspect of the game. And when I hit some thing that should not win I keep that in mind for when I have the hand that 'should' have won.

It depends. I will say that drinking alcoholic beverages helps.

I think the same way. When I take a bad beat , or when I 'm playing really well there comes a maniac and all in with A3 and I'll call with KK , QQ and river comes The maniac . This is to get on your nerves .

I am glad I can play online. If you saw how much my hands quiver, shake you would know when I am scared to raise and or bluff even now after years of playing. I also have anger issues when I am at the end of a bad beat. I play very conservative when I am up in the "money area", so when I get a bad beat it frustrates me.

online certainly helps with the nerves sometimes i have to go to the casino just to feel that rush and the nerves it helps you improve your game. I find i always come across that way, but at least i always got callers.

Never. If your nervous whilst playing poker you will give away many tells. Both live and online.

Good question! I think we all probably get a little nervous or feel some type of way when we play. My nerves already suck! I'm almost certain I have anxiety and that stuff don't help my poker nerves one bit But here lately I have not done too bad. I'm just sticking to working a BR up from free rolls. Had a couple 3rd places that landed me a couple bucks but overall I try my best to control those feelings by getting over my loses and reminding myself it's just poker it all depends on how you play your hand.

I don't think I get nervous when I play now but I do like getting that rush feeling when I play bad or good hands. Feels good when you win. But when I lose, I'm like well damn... Lol

I played every week last year so I guess I kinda got used to playing with different people.

I'm very emotional during the game. But I do not feel any anger. Only unrestrained joy of a good situation and unrestrained sorrow of bad beats or other fails.

I agree I need to chill out after a bad beat. That or i'm going full tilt, probably playing multiple games at once too.. I say this but I still need to practice it.

Sometimes I want to smash the monitor in anger. I understand that the nerves interfere with the game but I can not help myself.

My 'monitor' is my computer, i.e., an iMac. Smashing it would upset me much more than any poker game.

Seriously, if I'm feeling a little hot under the collar, I try to shut down whatever game(s) I'm in and take a break. That said, I don't get upset much anymore, since losing to lesser hands/players has become a regular occurrence that I just take in my stride.

Sometimes the river makes me angry,..I do not want to break anything . is that had such a good chance of winning that hand .........

I am nervous when starting out but then I get comfortable, playing live is a whole different story though LOL. I am more on edge when playing live.
