Playing on stakes you all can afford shouldnt be a problem. But if one of friends loses a monthly salary, then friendship could be hard.

Hello, Everyone! I think, if You sit down to play in Poker, You want to win. If no (?!): what will very amazing!
Then why to play generally?! Therefore, by my opinion, friendship :) is only before and after game, if it will possible,
of course, then...:rolleyes::motz:

If money is involved, I don`t think it is good to play with a friend with a lot of money. Poker with an enough big amount of money is like a real fight. You don`t want to get in a fight with a friend!

I don't think you have to know how to win and lose, it's all about life

poker for money does not ruin friendship if it is played for very low amounts
doing it for fun

You should know who to play for fun and with whom and where to play for an achievement!
it is best to make friends playing poker around the world!

I don't think so ... I played for money with friends years ago and there was never any problem. I think playing poker for nothing is impossible. Good hands.

I have never lost a friend because of the money we exchanged playing poker. On the contrary, I've made many. I believe that, provided you ensure that you're all gambling with money you can afford to lose, then the rest is just like any game you play with friends.

Definitely. But I bet there's a point, based on everyone's financial situation, where it would begin to cross a line. If you lose 20 bucks to your buddy, you probably could care less. But if you lose a couple thousand, you may begin to feel a little differently.

of course one thing has nothing to do with the other apart from playing with friends for fun, we play some money to make it more real and fun

I destroyed my friends in poker last time I saw them 4-5 months ago, I condesented them, abused them, bullied them for it...and never ever had problem with this.. What I do have problem is with these goddamn neighbors always stealing my bikes, throwing rocks into my windows, breaking the brakelights and writing the F-word on my building with spraypaint

Every time my friends got together to play poker for money it turned into one problem or another. We don't do it at all anymore.

thats depressing, just play for 5$ and no one really cares if you lose, but feels good to win still.

I agree, true friends should be able to take a joke!

Sure you can. It all really depends on what kind of friends you have and if you argue over money, it probably wasn't friendship.

I think that is defined by the level of betting given in the game. If it is a low level, no problem, but if we talk about high levels, most people end up bothering

well if you are playing with your friends tournament with maybe 10 or 20 $ buy in it can be great fun and it will be fine for friendship but i'll never play cash games with my friends it will definitely ruin friendship if someone loose some serious money...

No

It's just a game tho. My BFF would never end our friendship cause of money. What about other not close friends, idk, don't play with them.

This is why it's important to set limits before playing a home game, or even sitting at a cash table with a friend. That way it's just playing for fun as everyone already knows what they paid to enter. It's a different story if your friend is a gambling addict that you're enabling or a hyper-competitive person who takes games too seriously, but you should know to avoid playing with those people in the first place.

Seems legit...well said 😏

Depends on how you conduct the games. If everyone acts fairly I see no problem. I ran a few cash games during lockdown with some friends who were not very experienced. It felt slightly uncomfortable when I seen some of the plays they made and money they lost. Much prefer freezeout cash games with friends

Games with my friends were worth money for a few years and we never had any problems because of money.
We played for little, maybe that's why nothing ever happened.
On the contrary, friendship is strengthened.

Obviously it depends on your friends. Everybody has their own group of friends and everybody has their own personality. I would suggest playing without money first, and if that goes way, then add money in as a stake.

If the money on a cards table between friends is an issue, it was never about the experience and fun to begin with.

Take their shit.
