It all depends on how good friends they are and how much money they are betting. There are limits to everything and I think that while they have already established a limit everything will be fine. If they play without limits, that's where things can get bad since nobody likes to lose a large sum of money and the truth is that money could ruin a friendship.

I dont think so it may ruin friendship, poker is only a game even if it's for money

When I play with my friends the bet is always very low, a symbolic value. I don't always win, but I wouldn't feel good about winning my friends' money, definitely.

I have a group of friends who play cash and there were already problems with one who was a dealer and he went all-in with two players remaining and turned all the cards over in a haha.

Part of winning is losing, it comes with the territory, if you can't afford the losing part if playing for real money obviously you shouldn't add that into your game. Money is only good for spending and giving away, have fun.

I'd say it only forms friendships, as long as there is a limit.

This is very sensitive question because all most everything connected with money could destroy a friendship.

This is indeed a sensitive subject. With us there is also often a lot of drink in the game, so that the awareness is less. That is why we hardly ever do it again, indeed it almost always makes a difference, regardless of the amount you play for.

"Friends are friends, business is [something] aside" can I change here the business for money.

There are noting wrong to play against friends, but some people don't know how to deal with defeat. If your friend are like this, you don't have to play with him, or sooner or later you will be break you friendship.

I could say more things related to the topic, suggest other things, but this is personal and will depend on the relationship that each one has with friends, I have no friends who play poker, if I were to play I would prefer to play with fictional chips, and leave money only for private tournament and not for cashgame.

For minor amounts sure, but anything else sooner or later will effect the relationships in a negative way.

Normally I don't play for money.. me and my friends have the habit to buy some drinks and snacks.. only the one who wins the hand is able to eat or drink something... I know it sounds dumb, but trust me when I say it's quite funny and we always have a good time together playing poker LoL

Its like the ole saying, "you can shear a sheep many times, but you can only skin them once". Small amounts are fine but if you win your buddies house payment thats a different story.

I think lending poker funds to friends is a bigger potential problem.

I think that's quite okay. But i think it would be a problem for the friendship if you are playing with a too large buy in. As long as the money isn't the real focus everything is fine:)

hi.if poker can destroy a friendship,it's not friendship,it's familiarity.and so, do not play poker with your friends in debt, only with the money that you have with you, this will save you from small quarrels,if your friends are real.

This is why it's important to set limits before playing a home game, or even sitting at a cash table with a friend. That way it's just playing for fun as everyone already knows what they paid to enter. It's a different story if your friend is a gambling addict that you're enabling or a hyper-competitive person who takes games too seriously, but you should know to avoid playing with those people in the first place.

HELLO!

Between friendship, money and hostility is a very fine line! It all depends on the two people between whom the money got up. Poker must be above these concepts!
