I do good with cash at the casinos and usually stop grinding after4 or 5 hundos. I think tourneys are more profitable in the long run. Good luck and crush both.:D

I like tournaments, set buy ins and won't run your bankroll to 0 since its structured.

Im really up in the air on this one the time tournaments take is getting a little old online MTT anyway. I usually only play $5to $10 ones but they are like forever long I usually don't reach final table but do get my buy in back fairly regular. Sometimes that's multiple buyins so I could just as easily put that cash towards a cash game and come out the same maybe better. But I do look forward to playing live tournaments again soon I hope.

Seems every time I sit at a cash game players that know I'm waiting for a tournament to start or just got done with one always tell me their a waste of time and cash is where the money is made. I think it could be that their the ones making the money and need me to stick around and hand it out

For me it is cash games but tournaments are a close second place. I actually discussed my top 5 most profitable poker games in a recent video.

I played cash game for a long time but I didn't feel the satisfaction. I don't know exactly, but it seems to me that at some point in cash games I lost the pleasure of the game and started thinking about money, I wanted to earn more and more, and that's what lost me. In tournaments I focus more on the game not thinking about money. I treat it more like a form of entertainment, which from the beginning of my adventure with poker was guiding me - the pleasure of the game and fun.
I think that in the long run you will earn more in cash, unless you have some skills and the right amount of luck. But choose the one where you feel good.

Of course, tournaments, in cash games you can easily lose everything in 5 minutes and then regret it, and in tournaments of $ 1-2, you can spin the carousel of luck for a long time until bingo falls out.

It all depends on the player

There's a lot of online players that will tell you they made their poker career off tournaments. They're a great opportunity if you play a solid game and you get lucky in the right spots or are just super self aware and can put a lot of pressure on tables. It comes down to math... assuming we're talking about a component aspiring pro with some degree of skill and understanding for the game. In a tournament there are huge pools where you can thin out a majority of players consistently and try to play your best into at least a min cash. Cash games especially if you want to be profitable in higher stakes where you're more likely to find better players not saying its impossible because certainly people do it. Its going to be a tough the most important thing to remember is never play over your bankroll.

Profitability comes from adapting to each of them.

Both are profitable in my opinion ... all in the long term of course depending on your modality ... never play any of them out of your bankrol ... different strategies I use for both modalities ... I love tournaments .competition is my passion ...

Cash games is more profitable I think because if your on a roll in
a cash game, you can may money in a short time instead of hours of
playing for a bigger cash out if you win it all.

it is interesting that many members so far have said that they prefer tournaments and that they have difficulties to win in cash games . does it ring a bell ? cash games are more rigged than tournaments when it comes to online poker . i am a good cash player in real life but i also do better with tournaments than with cash games online . that is my opinion (that online poker is manipulated).....and nobody can change it

regarding what is more profitable in real life at least :

if you have good bankroll management and enough money to play then cash games are more profitable IMO

however there are tournaments where if you get far you will get a lot of money which would take you a very long time to make with cash games

Both have high variance with MTTs at 130X the variance of cash games but if you practice average BRM you'll be fine

tournaments have bigger top prizes if you go deep, but require consistent luck on flips. Cash gamers you can walk away anytime, or reload anytime. Some players play cash, and use winnings to bankroll tournaments for the "big score"

I prefer to play cash games, because you can sit at the table at any time and also quit at any time. Unlike a tournament, which takes several hours or more.

When I have good profits in cash, its around 5-10x of my buy-in (+- 1/2h playing) and when I have good winnings in tournaments, it is around 20-100x (+- 4/8h playing) .. there are different ways to play each one, so specializing to the maximum, is the best way for both to be profitable to us![emoji383][emoji935][emoji964][emoji1635]

Оба варианты хороши, но турниры мне кажется интереснее

MTT's have the softest players and are easiest to beat but have much more variance. SNG's and cash are lesser variance and give you more freedom. But cash tends to have tougher players and is harder to beat.
good answer
