Hello everyone,

I often find my self in having forexample on monday a lot of luck. Winning every hand in which I have 25% odds. And the next day I find my self having trouble winning hands in which I have at least 80% odds.

My question is, do you believe that there does something excist (not a god or something like that ofcourse) that makes you having those bad luck, goodluck streaks?

I often hear that people have something like a tallisman around, a cardprotector that they believe brings luck or something else. Do you believe in that kind of stuff, because I am starting to believe in those.

Yes, I believe that everything is not so simple in our life. For example, there are not a few cases when people who won lots of money in lottery, became poor or died (I think it is not accidental). I'm sure that every person has an aura connected with his actions in this life or in his previous lives. We come in deserved way and leave from us also! So do good and everything will be fine for you !!! Good luck at poker tables))):)

It happens to me all the time, and most likely to all people who play poker. There is nothing you can do to prevent down swings or bad luck other than stopping playing poker.

I do not think it's bad luck ... maybe you did not play good hands well, maybe you were not aggressive to get players out of the hand with speculative cards ... there are many variables to analyze

Bad luck does not exist, bad decisions. Not being observant and making mistakes is what makes us lose. If there is a 0.001% probability of losing, you can lose without hesitation

After a couple more days of just hovering back and forth at even in the HUSNG's, I finally got myself to move back to the cash tables, where I have played the majority of my hands in the few years I've played on and off. I left off crushing the tables in January, got busy, and forgot just how well I was doing. When I came back, I wanted to give the HUSNG's a try because they seemed like a nice hourly and I like them. Further, playing heads up just improves your overall game.

I may go back to the HUSNGs at one point but I feel so, so much more at home in the cash games. I picked up better than where I left off and am winning at over 100bb/100 over a couple thousand hands...which is ridiculous. I haven't ran specifically hot, either it's just that the players around me are just that bad. This is definitely where to farm fish. The sit and gos really do seem to just close the gap between good and bad players, giving the weaker players better odds to win a BI from the good players. It's a different thing to bluff/shove turn or river in a deep cash game than it is in a $3 HUSNG.

Anyway, there's variance in any sort of gambling/cards and there's also skill gaps. I think the combination of some bad variance, not being in the right games, and just flat out tilt was leading to my bad run in HUSNGs. I started out doing better in them than I was doing when I ended up and a lot of it really was just terrible variance. That said, it did start coming back to me earlier today before I switched to cash and I did learn a lot from the past couple of weeks playing nothing but heads up.

If you are winning hands with a 25% chance it is because you are playing the wrong way. I believe in something bigger, spiritual. I do not believe that the spiritual interferes in these things, the spiritual is for greater works.

I don't know if they're necessarily bad luck streaks, but I have played at certain sites where I would be card dead for weeks at a time and people that were in hands where I was a huge favorite would always end up catching a miracle two out river card..

Love this question. For myself I chalk it up to variance and poor play when I am on a down swing.

However, I have a friend I play with who appears to win regardless of game he plays (I am not talking huge stakes, but always comes out ahead) in the 15+ years I have been aware whether he plays Poker, baccarat, roulette or craps. IDK if its luck or something else but he is certainly consistent

But again this is more perception than anything else cause I don't have thousands of hands of data to compare his overall performance with.

My uncle was a pretty steady gambler most of his life, prior to his passing. He usually did well and he was a strong believer in variance. and sticking to a strategy. His main bit advice to me was you can't care about the money, once you have put it in play, your focus has to be on your game and sticking your strategy. I am sure if he were alive to read this he would correct me or add to it, but that was the gist of what I remember.

I do not believe in this lucky object or anything.
I know that luck exists, but there are many times when people lose their stupidity, or we win in boldness.

My friend's father is like that. Whatever game of pure luck he plays he wins non stop.

I wish there was a real way to evaluate luck without having to deal with perception.

I believe in bad luck streaks for tight players.

For players more in between LAG and TAG like myself, you start to realize that luck is an illusion.

Luck is something that is required in poker to win and to be sucessfull at it. Poker is not a pure skill game like chess. If you lose in chess its because your opponent out played you, but in poker it all depends on luck.

I saw it so many times, when somebody keeps loosing, you can come with any cards and you'll have bigger chances then usual.

If you lost and angry, go somewhere for half an hour, stay calm and then have your chance!

It seems like it is a lot easier to be unlucky than lucky in this world. Play as well as you can, as in life make the right decisions and choices, that is all you can do and hope some luck comes your way.

Yeah, sometimes I have bad luck streaks on my way. But my friends and family helps me to overcome it. Luck can be whimsical, especially when you don't believe in it.
