Then how does it feel? Obv 500 hands is nothing to properly know but I assume you don't feel out of your depth. I assume you dropped down?

I am way better than the competition. But just played a 300 hand session against a reg. we both lost 100bb. the rake was absolutely killer so I know im playing a lot lower than were I can beat right now but still just want to get the 2k hands in before going to 50 and same with 50 before 100. I know im not playing huge volume at each level but I know I can beat 100 and I just want that base before really grinding it.

My rake paid so far over 738 hands is 204bb or 102BB. which means based on my math, you need to win at 13.8BB/100 just to beat rake at 20PLO. I know this is not a real figure because my last session was action packed but yeah, you need to crush to beat rake.

I am down 36$ right now but down 20$ in EV and my last opponent coolered me in 5 all in pots all worth over 40$ so I feel like I could be up a lot more right now.

Well seeing as yo yuare playing 20plo im going to assume you are probably playing on ipoker, which has 1$ capped rake so even if you have 50% rakeback you are still getting shafted. You are much better off moving to a 50c site and starting at 50

Yeah I know, i mean, at this point it is just an experiment which is why im playing 10x lower than normal. I know the rake is killer but I have my plans to leave the site in a months time. Just have to wrap up this damn bonus whoring shit and then I would be gone. IPN is really terrible tbh.

No reason not to bet. Going to get called by a lot of FDs etc and you also need to protect your hand. In a situation like this, a lot of people will fold like Kxxx and Qxxx and those hands naturally have decent enough equity against us and what differs PLO from NLHE is that we want to protect our hand more and hence betting to get these hands to fold out is not necessarily a bad thing and even if they call we can get them out with a double barrel etc. We also end up seeing a few calls from like JTxx or FD that will fold to a double barrel on a non connecting card. So again, I'm betting here and any kind of safe turn, im double barreling.

I mean its not great, not having position but essentially, hands like KQxx or wrap FDs are almost always going to raise us on the flop so it would always be an easy fold. They never bluff these board either so obv bet/folding the flop is superior to check/calling or check/folding.

How much are you advocating betting? Are we talking pot size or less? And if reraised you are saying fold then?

Well Im never betting full pot here, that would be counter productive, people will essentially be playing the same regardless of size (with the exception of if you are betting like 1/4 pot). Im looking to bet like 17 on the flop.

Say the board was three spades instead of two - can we still bet or do we just shut down?

I bet with the A of spades and not much else other than like a set. Seeing as we do not have the A of spades, im more prone to not betting. Having the nut blocker means obviously that someone else does not have it and means that if they have a flush and are thinking enough players, we can in theory, get them off the hand by betting multiple streets and representing the nuts. Obviously we actually bet the nuts here as well for balancing purposes but that has to be a given at this point.

Ok new questions. Say the turn is a blank. Bet or check?

Or if you bet out like you said you had one caller and the turn is a ten? Do you want to encourage chasing? Or pot bet?

Well once the turn is not a spade, King, Queen 8 or 9 and I will be betting the 8 sometimes. Im almost always betting. And on the turn we should be looking to pot.

I made some pretty serious bitcoins playing NLO8 for a while. That is as close to PLO as I have been for some time. ;)

Sad part was the bitcoins were getting worthlesser and worthlesser as I accumulated them. I sold them all a while back and am just playing live games now mostly.

Yeah but double-suited, and broadway and other PLO words for on topic.

Do as I say....

Been reviewing my hands, and I'm a hypocrite. I have not followed the rules of solid play. I've been playing with danglers more often than I thought. Had nut straights with 4 outs only to have one of those outs make a flush. Played flush draws off flop, and not had any alternative hands. PLO requires discipline! Patience! The "suck out" pre and post flop may get you, but don't chase when the odds aren't in your favor. You've got 13 outs with an unmade straight on the flop, turn draws dead and now you are calling a pot sized bet.
Play AA with face card and one suited, I still think worth seeing the flop, just don't get married to the hand. Otherwise GET ALL 4 CARDS WORKING TOGETHER!

To get this going, you would need to post a hand or two. I do not play anymore so I cannot help there.

Hey everyone, i've been looking for thread like this for a while now. I used to be a NLHE player but mads the transition over to PLO and I have to admit that I have a hard time going back and playing NLHE cause I find it very boring and uneventful. I like being able to see more flops and then make my decisions after the flop.
