I may be wrong on this but I don't think 4433ds has that much value. If you flop a set it is almost always bottom set. When you flop a straight with it, your straight is often going to be a sucker straight and you won't have any straight redraws - the only redraw you'll have is the weak flush draw, which you aren't going to have all that often. So maybe I am nitty but I'd fold it pre-flop.

Once you get to the flop though, I think a float is fine - I'll usually fold to another bet, then bet myself if checked to. The small turn bet though is interesting, I'm not sure to interpret it as weak or strong, but since my plan was to fold to a bet on the turn I probably stick with that. When he 3-bets us, we have one out at best, fold.

Ah, fair point I suppose. Would we be able to call a river bet though?

Hand selection sucked but it's a superstition of mine to always play first hand when I sit down at table, (yes I know it's stupid but what superstition isn't?).
I'm thinking that this might be a bad leak for me though, (playing the bottom set).

That's the max for this type of game. It's a shallow stack table. This is all I play now.

why is hero potting the turn? Are we trying to make the worst possible decision in all these hands?

With all due respect bubba, if I were you I would watch alot of PLO vids/read a basic PLO book and move down to micro PLO to work on your game as almost all of the hands (other than the completely standard ones) are grossly misplayed and suggest to me that you aren't really thinking things through.

The hand with the 4s is a flat on the turn as a standard and i'd be wanting to fold river if faced with a bet vs alot of villains. Only way raising turn could possibly be good is if you own the soul of villain and know that he will bet call all ax hands and 3B all boats, which means you are raise folding a boat on the turn. As played the turn is an insta snap fold vs anybody who isn't maniacal as nobody should bluff there and nobody should be raising ax for any reason. I'd be amazed if villain showed up with anything but aq+ here.

The top pair plus nfd on the straight board is a terrible turn bet - there are a billion people in teh pot and a huge chance one of them has a straight so whenever you get action you have 20% equity and even if you got a call or actoin from a worse flush draw that fd almost certain has side cards that make it an equity fav vs you - basically in a 5 way pot if you get any action on that turn you are absolutely crushed.

Anyways sorry if this seemed harsh but I'd be amazed if you didn't bust your roll pretty quick playing 2/4 like that. The variance in PLO is massive so a few good sessions could easily make you think you are playing way better than you are.

They are passive but correct unless villains in second hand stack FD and two pair type hands.
