Different stats converge (become meaningful) over different numbers of hands.

I suggest you post your stats and we can help analyze them within the context of the number of hands that you already have.

After sweating with you yesterday, I think maybe stop calling in marginal spots, though you might not be loosing a whole BI this adds up alot. Andddd maybe get rid of the overbets on the river, the hand above i didnt mind but after watching you play yesterday and reveiwing the hand above with that sizing he is only calling with better.

just my thoughts

How big a downswing can be just from variance over lets say 30k hands if a player is in fact 3bb/100 winner?

Depends on the standard deviation in your win rate.

Duggs, I can get on skype at some point if you wanna go over stats in detail. I'm not an expert or anything but just to have someone to talk stuff out.

I'd say 10k hands is a decent sample for looking at the majority of stats up through the flop. Stuff on the turn and river and relating to showdown would probably require more to really be useful.

River: ($6.00, 2 players) A:diamond:

now is c/c or b/f better on the river v a 32/26/5 over 57 hands.
i want to c/c because he has largely draws. but the only one that came in is KJ, however most flush draws picked up a pair of aces so may check back, but id expect them to bet river with a reasonably high freq given my range looks like KQ/QJ/Q9 etc and he can get hero calls. maybe im levelling myself.

1 - dont like the flop min 4bet, we're never folding and it doesnt induce anymore action imo I flat or shove there tbf, probably flatting more often.

2 - bet/fold since a lot of his hands picked up SD and he might think its good

3 - meh, pre is a bit thin but as played flat flop imo

anyone else?

1. The flop only has a bet and a call, and the turn is a bet/3b/call off, right?? I prefer shoving I think.

2. Yeah I'm not sure if he bets his weaker Ax hands. Bet/fold may be best, though I'm honestly not too sure, since when we raise the turn and barrel the river, don't we only rep exactly our hand or better?

3. I raise flop. I don't mind getting folds, and we build pots when he has something he likes that will pay us off when we hit. But definitely fold pre to his 5x 3bet. Even if that's his standard I'd consider folding, or maybe not open quite as wide from the CO.

overdue for an update, played 10k hands at 10nl 6max and was a consistent loser, changed to deep stacked ante tables and have played like 10k hands there aswell.

ill post stats in a sec, it makes sense to me to separate them according to game type given stack depths yea?

at the very least for the next 2 months, i really enjoy the 250bb deep tables kinda hated 100bb deep since all the short stackers ****ed me off. i also think that caused me to make less than optimal decisions in some places.

I fold way too much to 3-bets so I probably don't know shit. But. I reckon you are flatting 3-bets way too often. Granted you are playing deep tables so the dynamic will alter what with the stack sizes being different but I just don't think you can try to outplay people in every spot and expect to profit.

Again I play 100BB deep so it might be standard at deep tables but I think you are flatting too much in general. The gap between your VPIP/PFR is a bit large.
