Sometimes you just have to shoot 'em twice to kill'em.
Even when you are pulling a semi-bluff.
Or... was I just leveraging position on the loose villian...

... Okay I peeked at my graph, *shame*

Running at -3.46% ROI over 102 games, obviously not too worried about that as I that can become positive with just one session. My finish distribution looks whacky, lol.

Also, weird thing just happened, I had a deposit on Stars bounced for the first time since I've been playing there... It's also the first time I've tried to deposit since my local bank got bought out by a national one. Wonder if that's why? Wonder if I can expect something similar to happen on Tilt in the next few weeks, I just deposited there last week.

That's weird, I just did a small deposit through SunTrust last week with no issues.

Really? Maybe I ought to open a SunTrust account, hah.

But yeah, hopefully this was just a coincidence, I guess we'll see in a couple of days. I'm trying to check my online statement, but the website is down... grrr

Also why does Pokertracker have to be so lame? It's impossible (or at least I am incapable of) filtering to a specific set of hands, and then running them all simultaneously through the replayer, or to get all the raw hand histories into one .txt file. Guess I'm off to the PT3 forums to figure this one out.

Just bought a new laptop for grinding - Inspiron 1750 :D

Got an email saying there was a problem processing it, hoping there isn't as it's gotta be here before Friday when I go for a week's grinding in Belfast!

btw getting kinda sick of this game.

I have to join in late this month before I start running bad :). Been working on my game and have moved up from $2.25 turbo's after running 14% ROI over 280 games in the first half of the month. Took a stab at $6.50's with about a $270 BR. Figured If I ran bad or sucked bad enough to fall to $125 I would drop back down. Now with RB and small FR cash($21) I stand at $520. So far so good! Will post my $6.50 ROI as soon as I figure it out. Runnin Gooooot!!!!!

Only 120 $6.50's so far, but doing good. Think I am ready to stab at the $12's. I'll start out with 10 BI's and if it don't work out then I will drop back down and still have over 50 buy ins at the six dollar level.

These are my $6.50 stats for this month before moving up:

120 games x $6.50 = $780 Total Investment
1rst) 22 x $27.00 = $594.00
2nd) 13 x $16.20 = $210.60
3rd) 13 x $10.80 = $140.40
Total winnings = $945.00
Total profit = $165.00
ROI = 21%
ITM = 40% (48/120)

I think the math is right. I know small sample but is continuation of how I left the micro's. Since most players think there is little difference in skill between the $1-$10 range then it's time for me to take a stab at the twelves. For once in my life I don't have to withdraw for any reasons right now. So following BRM and dropping down if I have to is no problem.

Wish me luck guys and gals!

I must say I'm enjoying the $6.50 18-man SnGs. Probably put in 120 or so in the last 2 weeks. The bubble spots are certainly interesting, I'll have to post a few in the coming days. I do love that you can really dominate said bubble in these though...it's so much less effective in 45's and 180's. The "Battle of the Planets" stuff is just a bit of extra sweetness on the side. Maybe I'll put together a strong streak and place in it some time!

Playing these smaller fields has helped me see why people do flights of SnGs instead of just constantly keeping X tables up. No hourly break on <45 person tourneys makes it very tedious to just keep a bunch of games running. So where 18-mans are concerned I've become fairly comfortable firing up 5 games and letting them run down. I might have to up it to 6 sometime in the near future.

I dunno - you still get these players in the $12s but you get a lot more tight/solid players than you did in the lower levels and that's the real problem. In my experience the $12s are a huge skill jump up from the $6.5s.

I have noticed that. It seems every MT reg I have Sharkscoped is a HUGE winner! One table the play was so good I was actually humbled. Dropped my first 9 games do to loosing coinflips and better field of players. My tenth game I donked my way into third. Then lost the next 2.

No way I am giving up until my BR hits > $325. So I decided to 1 table it for a while until I get a good feel for the jump in skill. I do know I can be better than most of these players, I just haven't shown it yet. BTW I placed 2nd in the last one I played. Not giving up yet :).

Dropping back down to stop the bleeding LOL. Think I will try to make some money for new computer and poker coach at the six dollar level before I move up again. Just played 20 games and got 2 thirds and a second. Had some bad luck but I just plain feel like I was outplayed up to the end game. Even then I felt like I didn't belong yet. SMALL sample but like I said earlier, it was just a stab and can't really see any reason to keep going. Down over $130's today even tough it don't bother me I think losing more would. Going back to my comfort zone now.

Starting BR for the $6.50's= $380+

Why did you change game? Why is the bubble stronger?

Why did you change game? Why is the bubble stronger?
No big reason really, more a collection of little ones. I still play MTT and 45/180's I just kind of added these in. There are a few reasons though:

1. It feels damn good to win and some of the killer downswings in larger fields are just demoralizing. Much, much easier to come away with a first in an 18 or HU (or STT...I just didn't tinker with that route).

2. I thought it would assist me in late stages of MTT. Before I started with them I had just pretty much bubbled the FT in huge field MTTs on back to back nights. Largely due to...umm...I guess you could say over-aggressive (read: stupid) play. I knew I'd have to learn some new tricks to win at the 18's with regards to ICM and pay spot tightness.

3. Time. A session of 18's is sooooo much faster than a good 45/180 session. And I go by flights instead of just constantly loading due to break-time stuff.

4. The "battle of the planets" stuff really is a cool incentive to grind out a lot of these. It doesn't seem terribly out of reach to make a top10 one week either, just need to run decently/well for a 20 game stretch. I was close this last week, was on pace for a top10 after the first 10 games of my set but then went stupid cold in the next 10...AA cracked twice, other big PP cracked a few times, etc.

As far as bubble stuff goes >>> Technically, because the payout is flatter, ICM plays a larger role around the bubble. Thus, people tend to fold MUCH tighter, either because they know it's right or because they "got so close I don't want to miss out now!". Being shorter handed helps as well, you can just shove more fearlessly from more positions because there are fewer people left to act.
