I would say that my biggest mistakes as a beginner were playing too tight and passively. And also not being able to let go of a big pair when someone was clearly telling me I was beat.

Through a combination of study in poker tracking programs (including studying my opponents in depth) and endless hours grinding at the poker tables, I was able to fix these two issues.

It took a long time though and my game is still always evolving. You never stop learning as a poker player. That is also the key to staying on top.

my opinion is that the more we equate the skills of everyone, as we all read and improve our game, so luck is more important

playing a really wide range of hands and playing out of position, also bankroll management if i have $20 i'd play 10nl cash games and bust it all there many times, bluffing too many times. I don't know how I improve it but I just play a lot and manage to change them.

I used to make mistakes, play different pictures or with one ace on my hands, and I lost a lot when I started playing, now I improved my game and play very carefully and gently so as not to repeat old mistakes!

I played all in with AK, AQ, AJ, AT... Now, i know better... It is stronger a pair than these cards because you have one pair in start, and there is no guarantee that there will be A or some other high card on the flop.

Incorrect use of starting hands and the same approach to all types of players.

Not having any idea about the importance of position, playing shitty cards almost every. single. time if the price was "right" (in my own head). Raising and calling way too much for gutshot straights and stuff like that. I improved by watching a lot of streams and videos and doing a lot of reading on the game.

My main mistake as a beginner was that I wanted to play all hands no matter what cards I had and what position I was in ... and I wanted to win all my hands ...! Of course none of that is possible ... and little by little I was learning more how to play poker ...! Today I play much better even though I still make mistakes ...!

Well I was all at sea, I didn't know a thing about strategies, objectives in a hand etc etc, and I played at ridiculous stakes for a beginner. I mean like my first acc. was at PS, I made my first dep. and promptly sat down at a $5/$10 table. Now yall stop laughing or I'll tell my mother!!!!!

Table position was a big thing that I've learned more about over the years. If it wasn't for doing research and watching videos I would probably be a non-profitable player.

My biggest weakness was handling variance. I have always been good at bankroll management but I had a hard time handling bad beats and it would affect my game as a result. It took years to learn to accept variance and do your best to move on. My best advice for handling variance is to simply take a short break and refresh yourself, it worked best for me. Good luck.

I used to think everyone was always bluffing me.
I learned to become more aggressive and found that only calling when I could not raise or fold, worked really well for me. I moved the "call" to my last option.

The BIGGEST leak, of many, was folding draws. I would chase and bet draws relentlessly. Once I learned about pot odds it really improved my game. I went to the casino and wrecked house. Got up to several thousand dollars from 1 buyin! I thought I was a pro! It was a good few weeks but my many other leaks and bad BR management became apparent and I lost most of my BR. I did fall in love with the game at that point and have gone on to fix many, many more leaks.

My biggest mistake I made as a beginner is when I moved up to the next higher stakes, I overplayed hands that I would not attempt if I was still playing smaller stakes. For some reason, I felt more of a need to protect my hand, so I would bluff 3 times as often trying to get people to fold hands, so I could take down this larger pot.

Hello friend, after losing quite today recognize that should not play any two letters, study forum cardschat, follow videos on YouTube, even more so I will lose a lot to get perfectly. poker requires a lot of patience to wait turn, and to this is necessary very calm, patience and humility to fold his letters when it is obvious that you are missing.

I didn't understand the power of position, but I was a much better reader of my opponents.

Poor adrenaline management.

hqdefault.jpg

I LOVE poker, and my biggest issue has always been not letting go of a hand when I KNOW I'm beat. The adrenaline just kicks in and the shutoff-valve is difficult to find and tricky to switch to the OFF position.

For me, the road to success (in poker) is all about DISCIPLINE (and of course finding that shut-off valve).

I called way to much. Didn't respect money. Gave my gives easily. Couldn't read my opponents.

Calling is bad because you have no fold equity, you give a free card, you miss value, you are probably behind (why not raise or fold).

My biggest issues were not playing position and too many hands. I read a couple books and ended up changing my play.

Very often I fly with a combination of straight draw, the last time I try not to go VABank with such a combination.
