My goals:

- Move up in limit (Currently playing $20+2 with over 70 buyins bankroll)
- Play more games a day, so I won't end up having to eat my bankroll
- Learn to multitable (See above)
- Refine my play
- Buy something cool with my full tilt points

Last week has been rather crazy. I started to work on my late position play and I've been on a high since then. During the last week I've played a total of 66 $20+2 SNGs on FT (normal speed, 9-handed). My ROI% over the last week is a whopping 39%. 14 first place finishes, 7 runner up and 10 third places. (47% ITM). Overall (not counting tournament wins) it's at 25% according to sharkscope (I got a nice icon there now :D). I want to have at least 50 buyins before I move to $30+3. I'm almost there :)
I used to be in this situation until I made the stupid decision to move to ring games and was crushed, but I always found the $30 sngs easier to beat then the $20 ones. I never could figure out the difference. Also anytime I had a downswing of not placing itm for 5 or 6 sngs I always just moved back down so as not to pull my hair out, lol.

Argggghhhhh Only 2 2nd places tonight out of 12 games :(

Here's just a sample of some of my bust out hands and none of them was I behind when all the chips went in.

AQ<K9
A7s<85o
KK<Q8o
KK<A8o
AJ<87

Just gotta keep saying to myself that variance owes me big time.

Variance is pretty big in SNGs, cause most of the hands played goes all the way to showdown. 3 out of the 5 hands you mentioned expect to lose about 35-40% of the time all-in preflop.

SNGs have been pretty brutal for me this past two weeks. Kept running into a big pair.

Not true, i can get players off of a hand before the turn, unless it's a str8, or flush, but they have to pay their whole stack, to see the turn, river.
I have less showdown hands, in a 9 player SnG then i do in a 45 player SnG.:)

Random thought: are there more multi-tabling regs in the Full Tilt $2 SnGs than normal at the moment, or is it just me? Seems every time I sit down I'm looking at three or four tables with three or four of the same players on all of them...

Having one of those days where your getting called down and no matter how much you try your getting rivered. I can understand if they are on a draw but its just hitting a higher pair after calling raises which tells them they are beat. I know this is good in the long run and it brings up somethings I need to improve in my game aswell.

this is a crazy game. this month has gone well for me. my roll can now afford a few $11.00 buyins mixed in with the $5.50s. I've thought about trying some turbos but just not feeling it yet. I wrote a little program in exel to help keep track of the ratio of lower/larger buyins I can play. If anyones is interested in it let me know.

I'm there from time to time at these levels :

2$ Sngs + .0.05/0.10 limit O8, Razz and LHE....:joyman::joyman::joyman:

But I'm rather irreg than reg :D.

Edit: On a side-note the same thought occured to me last weekend - lots of multitablers there (some with notes as decent)

- tried to and managed to evade most of them (and busted 2 :p).

Final call for interview questions for Collin Moshman!

- when did Colin start playing poker ?
- at what stakes ?
- what was his greatest leak in the beginning, how did he close it ?
- in what respect did playing poker change his life ?

I played 4 $1/$2 MTT's yesterday, didn't even make the final table in the 18 man I played. Yesterday was a bad day for me. BR is down about $20 from my original $50. If I played ring games I'd probably have my 100% deposit match from pokerstars by now, but as it stands I'm only at about 170/850 FPP for my free $50. I just don't like cash games really. I can consistently win for an hour or so but I always make a bad read and blow my wad before I'm done.

So I stick with SNG's/MTT's but I can't seem to reproduce my winning day (+$60). My winning day I was running $3 SNG's/MTT's (out of my BR range now that I look back at it). So I kept running $3's till my BR was back to when I initially deposited then moved to down to $1/$2, but I can't even place.

Looking back now my winning day I don't think I had any weed. I've pretty much been stoned or drunk every night since then. I'm out of weed though, so we'll see tonight if it really had very much to do with it or if I'm just bad at poker ;)

i shoved allin and i think he thought he was ahead. and took the full amount of time to call. but i'm not really sure if he was thinking of folding or not. but i think i'd snap call the shove as it seems likely i'd had a random ten or queen here.
