because the idea is to see if players thought they could make a steady amount of money. The low amount was to be able to include freerolls. If the amount was $100 p/day freerolls wouldn't be an option.
I think the best way to make steady cash would be to play at cash tables a few levels below your abilities
But the question was You have to make $10/day, 'starting with $10 each day'.. how would you do it?
This ^ question is MUCH different than wondering if a player can make a 'steady amount of money'.
First off, to make a 'steady amount of money' isn't really how poker works. What format could one make money the most consistently off of a small starting bankroll might be another way to pose your question.... & in this case I'd say 2nl cash game would be by far the most consistent method.
If your question was >>
How would you suggest a player to try to make approx. $10/day playing poker with a small starting bankroll? (approx. $10/day but over a large sample size..... so something more along the lines of $200 in 20 days.... because in poker you will have days where you are +$15, +$5... or -$12 per day).
Then my answer to this question would be >>>
Discover which format you enjoy playing the most.
Practice this format until you can become a winning player. (then practice & study some more).
Practice Bankroll Management! (this will vary depending upon what format & also even what buyin level to a degree).
So if you have expectations of winning (on average) $10/day
in:
STT SNG's... with an ROI of +10%
You would need to play 50 Sit'nGoes at the $2.20 buyin level per day!
AND you'd need an initial bankroll of approx. $60 to $80
If choosing to play 2nl cash game.... with a winrate of 10 to 15bb/100
You're going to be needing to play ~ 3,000 to 5,000
hands per day
That could be A LOT of hours of play or maybe 4hrs. if you're 4-tabling ZooM tables.
Does this help to answer your question?
Also if your initial question was referring to $100/day, why would it need to exclude freerolls? (we don't have to invest anything but a small bit of screen space for an additional freeroll)
