I think you need good or reasonable card in your hand then you dont require luck if you are playing with your skill...

skill is needed more than luck...

Depends

It depends on who you are playing against. If you're playing free bar poker for a $30 bar tab on a Friday night, it's 99% luck and 1% skill.

If you are playing a cash game with a $100 buy in, it is 60% skill and 40% IMO

in my mind is just skill if you look it in the long run , luck is just variance , i always think poker player = casinos , casinos do have their losing days but in the long run they always win

70% skills and 30% luck, and at the highest levels the luck factor is reduced a little

Depends on which form of poker you play really..

online poker which i hate, is all luck. you cant read other players..

table poker is skill. since it takes skill to read others

i am not a lucky person, however i am a really good poker player winning around 30% of my tournements over a table, And comming within the winning 10 60% of the time.

online poker, i get nowhere, because there is no skill in it. you just delt cards, and play.. no skill at all.. .

table poker is where the skill is.

I think is most very difficult question in the poker, and not only in the poker: list can continue by infinity... My reply next: percentage of Poker is Luck VS Skill may to be from 0% to 100%, how in the one, so and in the another side, in every concrete case.

It depends who asks  .
If it's an Indian , Turk , Israelian I would say 100% skill , no reason to worry :D Guys like Bonomo makes you think that's true .
If it's a Macao , Chinese , Malaysian businessman I would say to him it's 100% luck man , keep on grinding  .
For all the others my opinion is 80% skill 20% luck , that's why there are winners better players and worse/worst losers on the long run . These percentages are not calculated , just saying , might be 70-30 or 90-30 , but skill prevails what I want to say , what I 've seen so far :)

I don't know about percentages. But I know for sure good luck in poker conceals skills. Without it any hand is nothing

I believe it is 100% skills. I try to think that "luck" is not really luck, it is part of the game. Is not easy to think like that, but I believe that is a good idea not to get on tilt.

Generalized question with answers that have nothing to back them up. What numerical data can you provide for those who have posted (especially OP) and what is the plus or minus error margin?

Hi
I agree totally from line 9 onwards.
Top 8 lines are not in my line of reasoning.
But from line 9 you are on the target..
I would give 75-25 to skill vs luck.

I have played MTT live tournaments 30+ players and encounter some horrible players calling a 6BB raise with a 46os and flopping a straight.
For these players with no skill to play a big tourney, they dont last longer and get eliminated sooner.

So skill is long lasting with little luck and luck without skill is quick to the elimination:)

I do not think you can count them, but the most important is skills. Skills can give you the victory, when just luck is not enough to have victorious results!

The power of chips is far greater than any amount of skill that exists in Poker. But to answer the question, I think that any degree of skill that exists in poker is outweighed by luck, randomness, and sheer lunacy.
