Recreational Weed, Alcohol, Poker What Are Your Thoughts?

This is really bad for a good game in tournaments, where you have to play with concentration until the final table for 7-8 hours, I prefer when I get tired of energy drinks.

With Oklahoma now having medical Weed legalized I am seeing more buzzed players at the casino I play at.... Almost always profitable for me... I play with coke or seven up and that's all at the casino - home game is a different story like someone else said

I think that if you play for fun with friends, alcohol and other items are fine. But if you're playing a bigger tournament for profit, it's only sober.

In my opinion drinking alcohol during the game is horrible as it affects the way we play at various levels.
As for the Recreational Weed consumption I think is not ideal either, but it can help when you are in TILT and will still play for quite a while as it helps to relax.

If you're playing online, stuck in bed with intestinal tumour, not allowed alcohol as it upsets your meds then....yeah.... The poker brings some relief from starring at the walls though is a better distraction with than without.... Totally Agree don't go high to a live event if you don't want to get wrestled to the ground and band from entry lol [emoji16]

Honestly I don't think a tiny bit of both can harm you too much - both of them are relaxants (I think). I don't smoke anything, but I'll definitely have 1-2 ****tails per hour while I play poker and stop if I feel myself starting to get too drunk. Having fun in poker for me comes before making money - I'm a profitable player at the level and way that I play. Sure, if I skipped the ****tails I could probably win a little more, but the enjoyment I get from socialising over the ****tails is greater than the enjoyment I get out of the 2-3% increased ROI I could possibly achieve by dropping them.

I've found taking Kratom has really helped my game... takes enough of the anxiety out to make sound decisons and allows me to focus a bit better (I'm a bit ADD)

Wait for the hand to get money from the bluffs. Also, such will not be on the chances of the following streets. If alcohol gets into my head, math will fly out of it.

As for recreational weed/alcohol and Poker, I'm all in favor of it when my opponents are doing it.

I remember hearing the old-time poker player Doyle Brunson say that he won't play a person who is drunk because they'll play irrationally. It wasn't a matter of not wanting to take advantage of someone who sits a table with their judgement impaired by alcohol. He says it's too risky playing them.

Doyle turned into an old nit because he couldn't adjust to changing circumstances. You want people playing irrationally, the more, the better. That's where the money comes from: the fish. Your regulars may not be winning, but they're still regulars because they're not going busto as fast as the fish. Maybe they have to redeposit every other month as opposed to every payday. The decisions fish make defy explanation, but all you need to do is play straight up ABC Poker, nothing fancy required. You will make better decisions, have range and position advantage, and you will do better than they do. They'll do silly things, show you plenty of white blackbirds, take a stack now and then with a hand they couldn't possibly have, but do. That's what keeps them coming back and back to lose a whole lot more over the years. They'll remember that "big night" for the next 20 years, and forget all the little nights when they lost.

Someone so lushed he can barely remain upright at the table can win and win and win. Way, way, way more often they lose. Lady Luck will tire of carrying you sooner or later, and probably sooner.

Happens at games other than Poker. A few years ago, it happened at blackjack: some drunk who could do no wrong: won nearly every bet, including the rip-off house proposition bets for $1000 maximums. Won some $250,000+ before passing out colder than a mackerel. Security poured him into a bed at the hotel, and the next morning, he remembered none of what happened the previous night at the tables. Strange things happen, but these are statistical outliers. Eventually, someone hits lottery jackpots too.

I Like to Play Sober

I don't smoke weed so there is no problem there. I do however drink beer. I do not drink during poker though. I like to have all my senses when I play. I don't want an intoxicant affecting my judgement.

I think it's like driving... it SHOULDN'T be done at the same time, however, SOME are doing it anyway..

I never played with very stone players.. but I played very drunk players... in cash game, I just try not to play a hand with them. You can anlways squeeze them somewhere anyway.. In tourney.. well I don't know I never really saw a very drunk guy in a tourney... no one playing a touney drinks more then me *kidding* but when you play a hundred dollars buy-in tourneys, 8000$ in the prizepool, I guess you don't push your luck. Wow... drinking or getting high at a poker game is like (knowingly) entering naked, in a gay bar. At some point, your ass is gonna' feel it. Not to mention if you're going for the big/high stakes... how do you tell your wife you gambled her (with 72) ... and DAMN... you won!

I think it depends on the person. I do not play very well when I drink but didn't notice much of a difference when I smoked. A bigger issue I found was that it tires you out quicker which makes a 12-15 hour session a bit tough.

Human is capable of creating htc in himself, human itself is like chemical factor, he can create dmt, growth hormone and so on. And this have a significant reason, i look at it like point A to B, point A is where hormones like Thc take place its deep state, where growing, relaxation, deep voice, grounding itself take place. EVERY person should try every drug at least one time in life, you see, when i taked weed for example i started to understood what emotional/spiritual state of mind it is, i can come back to that by meditation when ever i want, because i know what kind of place it is, cocaine is different place its like place B, its active state, where thoughts are generated, like rly unique ones, because energy input is high, soo.. when i experienced that, i as well by meditation can come back there, and become genius itself, but this state is require high energy input, that why a lot of people who use similar to this look like dead, because they using that everyday, when it could be used only 1 time in week lets say, only after 100% recovery take place. Sooo in end conclusion weed as relaxation and recovery place A drug, should be legal, and cocaine or similar not, but still everybody should seek to try it at least once, and thats enough.

Perfect word system should be something like in 1 time in a year hard drugs would be legal, like January 1 cocaine legal, then next month 1 day some other and so on like for 1 dose only that you could buy in pharmacy itself, you dont even imagine how consciousness of humans in global would evolve but that to much complicated to do that, so people like me should spread information maybe about this, but ehh i dont give a fck in the end, you get this post for the ticket of tournament..xd
