Poker is fair game and as in all sports and it is lucky or you would not be interesting. Fortunately best player will prevail with time. It is normal to lose a certain day when you do not go, or to have bad runs and Claims that the game is not fair.:D

This is the story of one of my friend who used to think that poker is not a fair game.

“Whenever I try to play with my pocket cards someone just raises. That someone raises it so high that I am forced to think that my cards are not strong enough to compete with him. So I fold. But at the end I discover that I had the winning hand……….. You people deprived me of what was mine. You took the money although you don’t have the winning hand. Is it fair?”

The story ends here. But question remains, are we depriving our friends from what they are entitled to?

LMAO... Thats Poker!!!! sit and watch a few games with Phil Hellmuth.

Though his strength and ultimate weakness is never folding if he starts off a hand thinking he has the nuts... lol

Daniel Son... wipe on... wipe off... wipe on... wipe off... one day you WILL be more confident in all your endeavors....

Padawan concentrate on the force and go with it... Painful over thinking can be!!

:D:D

Yes, it is fair.

We do not deprive them. Everything is on the table. They just have to reach out and take it.

Hello.
You better play chess.
In my opinion, you started to philosophize too much.
I recommend less philosophy, more poker. Personally, I am only interested in my victory. If I have won, then this is justice.

It's fair if you're an optimist but unfair if you're a pessimist.

If you go into the table with any negative attitude, chances are, it will end badly for you.

It is a fair game, but sometimes you can feel that the gods of luck and odds are against you, then you start thinking ... what the hell im doing playing this game? like Phil Hellmuth said.

Poker is a skill game where betting is a skill. Making your opponents give up the best hand is an inherent fact in poker. If your friend thinks you are unfair and believes that you are ahead in some hands tell him to pay a lot more. Everything is a matter of adjustment. And it is not a matter of just or unjust, but of skill

I agree. To add on to that; poker is not just skill (and I’m not talking about the luck part). The risk management of a bankroll is the ultimate ingredient for success in poker. Like the stock market, you enter, you exit, and hopefully if you’re smart enough, you have a stop loss in place every trade/session, and using no more than 5% of your bankroll per session/trade.

The beauty between the comparison, is the fact that you can read players and stocks, their patterns and tendencies, and make calculated decisions, based on mass/organizational behavior.

Poker in the long run is a fair game. If you think otherwise, play chess - 100% skills count here :)

Going to only address the subject and not the content of the OP's post. It is one of the most fair games you can find. You are not playing the house with odds in their favor but you're playing each individual at the table. In that respect the odds are equal, just not the skill level. In the long run variance is a non-issue, it will balance out. Poker is a very fair game, of any casino game or other forms of gambling.

Poker is a reflection of life,,,,no,it's not "fair",,just like life. and the people who think life is supposed to be fair are generally unhappy people. :bawling: You get out of life what you put into it,,,,just like poker. :)

is an honest poker game, no, will you always win with the best card preflop, no Often, poker is only a lottery, but this is the interest of this game, that the skill decides only 30%, all the other 70 are luck

In a way poker is not fair, I seem to lose with aces every time I hit them no matter how I play them. It is not a fair game in a lot of ways but it goes both ways . You win some bad hands yourself sometimes so it evens out.

Would urge to run you're hand history for AA. You are most likely winning more than you think.

It seems to me that in this case,it's true, although the totally annoying this situation has happened to me(this is the skill at high stakes and often stupidity on low),but the situation which I really think is not fair(and relatively) is when you open the flop with the best hand and confident in his win,but the river changes everything dramatically and your combination beats some 3-5% chance of the opponent!

It's easy to forget sometimes that poker is gambling. You gamble when you bluff, and you gamble when you hold on to your cards. Heck, you even gamble with a fold. This is why poker is often found in casinos, the same building that you find slot machines in!!! Good luck

Of course poker is a fair game, given that no one is actually abusing the rules.

There is one exception though - in micro stakes and freeroll MTTs, 3+ people shoving over your raise all the time is within the rules, but just rids the game of the skill element. Do you guys think this is fair to anyone who actually wants to play some poker and learn the game?

Of course not. Nothing in life is inherently fair. Even with strident rules in place. no game is fair. Luck, knowledge, state of mind, all play into the outcome of games.

poker is absolutely a fair game. now the skill level of the player you are playing with can vary a skilled player can read you and decide what you have based on body language breathing and 100's of other visible "tells" when playing online you just have the bets to read and the players patterns. its good to take notes on betting habits to help you sharpen your skills and remember them next time you sit together. and while a strong bet may scare you when im holding what I feel are going to be the nuts I welcome it as it means my pots going to be fat :) don't read too much into aggression use it to your advantage when possible.

poker will always be a game of skill math concentration but
in certain occasions a bit of luck,
everything depends on how you play your hands
