Live for sure. There are more variables but they are easier to track in person. You can tell betting patterns and how they bet, how they react to calls/bets/folds, building your own persona at the table, and actual table talk is better.

If you have casinos by you, then it is definitely something to explore. The 1/2 stake for NL is pretty good for beginner play, and they usually have smaller tournaments to play as well!

Live! its more interesting and extremely than sitting to comp...

But i think that online is better, it's much faster than live.

If you live in a country like mine, where there is absolutely no casinos, you have to play online, no other choice !
But I think live is much better.
At least you may avoid that scenario of losing a 98% winning chance bet on the flop/river cards, just because the online casino wants to reward the other player !

Why, where are you from?

Online is certainly tougher however I do enjoy playing in my own home, with my own setup.

Online poker

I think online poker is better cause you can play too much more hands and most of the time you can be relax in your home playing poker 4 or 5 hours without problem but honestly I would like to play poker in-real cause I think would be a good experience and I guess will be interesting see how other players plays and their reactions on the table. Would be amazing be a professional and play tournaments like the european poker tour and reach new positions till' get the final table

Hi, if we start from the theory that they are separate groups, everyone has their advantages, online players see more hands but in the comfort of their home, the players who play live tournaments have the experience, however, I think the Most of the players that play live tournaments are online players so I think they are more complete players

Live verses online

Even tho they are the same game with the same rules they are very differing beast. To do well in both is hard but possible. I find that even at the live tables the online player is more willing to take a chance. I think the variance is higher online and their used to it. So they will extend themselves a bit further. Online players don't hide their emotions because they don't have to. Body language says allot. They also have the soft ware to help with decisions. This doesn't mean they can't finish at live play because they have.

Online is about volume. Yes you still need to have skill but volume is where it's at. Cheaper games so you can play at levels you can afford. Maintain a bank roll at smaller amounts keeping you at play. Also resulting in looser play because is cheaper. You can tell scream even punch your wall and no one would know the difference. You see more suck outs so you more immune to tilting. You get to sit lay in what ever position you like in what ever clothing you want at what ever time you decided. Convenience for sure.

Now the real difference is in the shuffle. Each with its own randomness but different. In single shuffle half of a deck never happens to have a chance to be seen in a hand after shuffle is done. Eliminating this movement means 27 cards have no chance to see the board. With RNG the deck keeps shuffling. Now any card has a chance to hit the board based off mouse movement timing what ever they choose. Both unpredictable but online has a higher chance of improving the board. May not be much of a difference but think of it like a casino house games. The odds are in the casino favor by just a small percentage. Enough of a percentage to make a profit, everyone knows the house always makes money. Yes people still win but the house always has an edge. In this situation you know who has the edge. With a RNG that edge may not be as obvious but an edge none the less. Let's play poker:ciao:

Live or online

who is more skilled average live player or average online player?
everything about the players I think online players has a little advantage coz online player we can play few tournaments at same time so you get a experience and learn much quicker than a live player. When you play live you can see the faces it’s much easier to read your opponents. Que who is best es relative I will say both are same level everything it’s about the player.

I like online poker better. You can get online anytime and find a game in the comfort of your home as oppose to driving to a casino or a poker club.

Online poker is filled with inexperienced players who are just learning. If you play at a lower stakes like I do, the quality isn't that great. When you move up in stakes, the quality gets a little tougher. And lots of those players have HUDs that give them an advantage over those of us who don't use them.

Most people who play live are experienced and have a decent understanding of the game.

I prefer live games at casinos because I am usually on vacation, therefore, I am more relaxed and enjoy the play. When I play online, it is more about the money.
Also, I can easily interact with the other players live...can't do it online because I type very slowly...took 15 minutes to type this response LOL

Online poker vs, Live Poker

I imagine that it's like this for most players and not just me, but I feel like I play sooo much better in live tournaments or cash games!

I have heard of some people preferring online play over live play and I can definitely see why; Obviously you can just pick up your laptop, find a tournament or cash game and BOOM! You're ready to play. I love that aspect of it, but I feel so lost sometimes playing online. Like, you cant see the players reactions to bets, calls, etc. You cant study their body language and so many other things. Idk, how do you prefer to play? Online or Live?

I prefer live play but where I live it is so hard to find games and generally the standard is so bloody poor there is no point like most don't even know what they have or have not and end up screwing u on a stupid call and they get lucky on a runner runner or something stupid. Online is tougher for sure but there is certain things to look out for, betting patterns spot patterns ect

In my opinion, it's better off offline poker, so I can see the facial expressions and gestures of the players, and this can save you from the loss of a big pot)

If you good at it, that's fine, but nowadays not too many tips are given by most of poker players, 'cause they like to wear sunglasses and really cool in making decisions. Nevertheless, I really bet for offline poker:) Online is not that funny and amazing, but mostly like a daily routine

I think an online player is. More hands played, review, analyze, and see tons of different players from different countries which makes you more aware of different situations than on live casino.

Well, in my opinion can't choose between live and online players that whos more skilled. These are totally 2 different plays, because in my opinion you act differently while playing live. Because you have to hide ur emotions etc.

I remember how for the first time the world champion in chess played with a computer and lost! And an online poker player in almost every tournament meets bots (computers), and a good online player can outwit them! Offline player plays only with people, and with bots, he can not already! They are smarter! Need a workout!

When I started playing poker, it was live. I think some online players can't make the transition to live games. There is this one player in a poker league in my area, that plays like he's online, and doesn't seem to be able to adjust to live plays. His physical tells and betting patterns are so obvious to some of us playing at his table. We have an inside jokeand call him "free samples".

I don't think one is better than the other, it just comes down to adjusting your play. I know I don't want to go to a bar to play and get put out quickly.

who is more skilled average live player or average online player?
I hate a very interesting question and see how many opinions there are on the subject I decided to write my own. I say that both types of players are good where they play. the online player plays more hands and knows how to deal with them. other techniques that are only visible live but you exchange both types of players then it will become a great hahaha show

What? So you're playing HeadsUp poker vs. 'the house'? I think you're getting your games confused here. This is not blackjack... this is POKER!

And please can you explain how 'online has a higher chance of improving the board'? (that's 'if' the site we're referring to as 'online poker' in fact uses the constant shuffle approach (I believe only FTP actually used the constant shuffle deal but you do realize that it makes absolutely no difference (ie. the odds of the Ac or 8s coming on the turn is the same for either type of shuffle being used)). So... how does a constant shuffle result in a higher chance for the board to improve? (this could be a huge breakthrough for me here.... I mean depending upon what I'm about to learn from your response)
