How much do you think luck matters in poker? For me i seem to be pretty unlucky. I had a pretty good run for a little while in cash games but lately it doesn't matter howw well i play, i seem to have the worst luck. I believe if you are very unlucky you have much less of a chance to be a winning poker player.

Of course, luck plays a very important role, but no matter what, I still believe that our patience and discipline will always be more important. Therefore, be patient and disciplined, it will also increase your luck.

Math says, in the long run, we all have the same luck. Make plays that maximize the winnings on your great hands and minimize the losses on your marginal hands. Learn how to fold. Make small bets to prevent large calls. With a good win rate being 3BB/hour, saving bets is just as important as winning pots.

You can't just hope for luck. Luck comes and goes, but skill is always present and without it you will be left without money.

Hi.
Sometimes luck turns away and you start losing with premium hands, and vice versa, winning with an average hand, you need to be able to use these changes, when to wait, and when to be decisive, but if everything goes its own way, then only calculation.

In the long run luck does not matter.
Too many people believe they are unlucky in poker.

In my opinion, there are three important components. Patience, discipline and luck. Combined, these three components can ensure your success, but do not forget that everything depends primarily on you and your desire to achieve the goal.

I don't understand why you put so much value on luck, I see it as insignificant in the game of poker !! You are not unlucky when you with 9 5 ask for all in and lose! ... you simply made an idiotic decision! .... I know, now I will receive an answer that you do not do so and that you had AK and your opponent had AA, this is about how you knew how to manage the situation and where it ended up. There is too much discussion about this luck which is tiny taken into account compared to the game's math and probability!

I think luck impacts a lot in a round but in general you can reverse it with your experience.

Poker is a game of cold-blooded mathematical calculation. If you do it seriously, you must realize and believe in this axiom. Somewhere it may be lucky, somewhere it may not be lucky - this is not your concern. You cannot influence your opponent's arrival with a single out on the river. Neither trips to a fortune teller, nor lucky talismans will save you from this. Your job is to consistently showcase your best poker based on your skills.

my opinion is what you can complain about luck that you don't have it in the last 2-3 tables of a tournament, but until then I think it's also about the talent to play and make the right decisions at the right time :)

Of course, luck contributes a lot to our game. However, the basic concept is that anyone can win in one tournament. In 5000 tournaments, the more skilled will win.

In poker I think 10% depends on your luck and 90% knowledge and strategy doesn't help if you get lucky and win 5 or 6 hands in a tournament by luck and I came only one hand you lose all your chips if you don't know what Is doing..

Hi Friend.

It's just a losing streak, luck is part of this game.

I really like this thread, most people seem to be saying there's a lot of luck in poker!

I think I'm unlucky at the game and I was worried this whole thread was going to be "It's all about skill, if you lose you're bad at the game".

I do however think skill can reduce the amount of luck involved, but even reducing it to a 10% chance I still lose!

Just for balance I have won a few times and you know what, I was lucky on those occasions!

You can't win completely without luck, but if you only rely on luck then you will not be able to be successful in poker in the long run. And very often you don't lose because you weren't lucky, but because you made wrong decisions during the game. Those who only rely on their luck are playing the wrong game and should try bingo or the lottery. Of course there are also times when you just can't win a hand even if you think you've done everything right and then you're unlucky and the opponent is lucky? Or did you just misjudge your opponent and risk too much? It is difficult to decide when it is really about luck or bad luck because what you do is also decisive. But one thing is certain in any case, luck or bad luck are both only temporary so why rely on something that is not permanent? What you have learned and the experience you gain during poker are lasting and in the long run they bring much more than just relying on luck

I believe luck is one of the keys to success in poker. But luck must be aligned with good technique and winning strategy for a player to be successful at poker.

Apparently without luck, victory is simply impossible. Of course, skill and experience are the basis for a good game, but luck always decides who will be the winner.
