I prefer tournaments over cash games because I love the big score, the feeling like everything I worked for finally paid off. On the other hand, I find it much easier to play cash games and win a lot more, a lot quicker.

I prefer Tournaments you can win more depending on the buyin and because there is no such thing as ring game freerolls unless you receive some great Promotion

stt for me

I think STT's offer a little bit of both. You know exactly how much you're investing and how much you can potentially win. After playing a few you know about how long you're gonna sit there and play for. You get the excitement of a tourney and the reward and bragging rights of being top dog.

Yeah STTs are about the only tournament format I can stand, and tbh they can be loads of fun. I play those when I'm insufficiently rolled for cash.

Sorry about this (probably stupid) question, but does STT stand for?

If you don't have a lot of time cash games are the way to go. tourneys Tournaments are nice but usually you have to devote a few hours of your time in order to get a payout. And it seems the higher the buy in , the longer the tournament lasts.

So many different pros and cons for tournys to cash games, I personally have found more donks in tourneys , and it seems they come from pretty much the same area to, however having said that when I lose patience and be a donk - they type in all kinds of names at me - to which if I really lose patience - I type back that I have had great teachers on the site ( I play on 6 different sites!)
I do like cash games - as people do tend to play poker , rather then bingo, it seems even a $ .40 cent buyin makes a difference !
So if you have a lot of time , and patience - then tournys for sure :)
Either way , I have met a lot of great people from all over the world playing poker , and have had a lot of fun ! Sometimes winning is when you meet the people and not the game !

I prefer cash games, but i just can't profit out of it... i get to huge swings and just lose my bankroll everytime because of tilting.

I feel i play better at tournaments, at least i can make profit and use it in real life...

I have a love for both forms of the game. Tournament play takes time (6hrs + easily) where as Cash games are come and go. Both take different strategies and are a challenge in their own right. So for me it is more a time thing to not getting much tourney play in.

For me its definitively tournaments and SnGs. I used to play cashgames on fulltilt just because I had some ring game tickets there. And I was able to win something, but I dont feel confortable and enough confident at cashgame tables as at tourneys...

I prefer cash games. Full ring 9-10 players.

You can cash out whenever you like. With tournaments, you play until you win or lose all your chips. And the blinds increasing force you to play.

Tournaments are fun, but are much tougher to win (for me).

I have been taught how to play tournaments, so I am just sticking with that for now. I want to move in to cash one day, played a little, but just could not get in the cash zone.

I am more of a tournament player, myself. I like to think that I have a good understanding of the difference between tournament and cash game styles. But my natural style of play is better fitted to tournaments. There is also the fact that I tend to play smart poker and am the type of player that is, more often than not, getting my chips in with the best hand against weaker hands, smaller pairs and draws, but just don't seem to be that lucky. Which is something that I can deal with. After all, luck is part of the game. I think over time, skill is going to win over luck. But when someone get's them in with second best and gets lucky on me in a tourney, the entry fee that I'm losing is negligible when compared to the buy in that I would be losing if I were playing a cash game with the potential to win the same amount that I could win playing a tourney.

I think cash game is easier to turn into gamble. It need more self control.May be cash can bring big quick money, but the risk is also big.So I prefer tournament.
