I feel like im a much much better tournament player than cash game player. I just have better reads and feel for the game in tournaments seems to me i usually get sucked out on in cash games. I also enjoy the pressure once blinds are huge and one mistake can make or break someone

So I do pretty well at MTT's but I cannot make cash profitable for the life of me.

I guess it's just smart for me to stick to what I know best...

Although youre playing the same game...MTT tournies and cash are completely different animals. One is a game of survival and the other is more a game of playing the players. Id only suggest playing cash games that risk only a small portion of your bankroll. Since each individual hand is for cash... each +EV play you make essentially makes you more profitable quicker...(assuming that you arent sucked out on but...thats part of the EV). However, any wrong plays or suckouts have a greater impact on your bankroll.

I feel the same way. I feel I play really good at cash games, but I don't seem to make money from it, either people are too tight or they're just too aggressive for my bankroll. Now, I get really aggressive in MTTs, but I know that I only have one buy-in at stake, and when I use my "all in" muscle or raise big to take a pot I'm not risking any more or any less than I already agreed to at the beginning at the tourney. So, my final word is I prefer MTTs over Ring Games. Although I do hope to improve my cash game really soon, I just have to push myself to get great.

Tournaments, the mid - high buy in fields are much much softer compared to mid - high buy in cash games.

At low stakes, flip a coin

I have always been a consistant tournament player and always have seemed to lose cash playing cash games,so I tend to stick to tournaments and that is why I prefer them to cash,
For the simple fact that I make more cash in tournaments.

It is easy to answer in my case! I prefer to play tournaments or freerolls first because you decide the value of the input or the freeroll will play, this makes one knows how much money is going to lose or invest in the value of the input. In the cash game you enter salis Silver and generally nothing is my opinion!

Initially i thought i would apreciate more to play in cash games...
However, after get some bankroll in freerolls and latter in real (small) money tournaments (never invested any cent of my own in poker), i DESTROYED almost everything i had putted toghether with so many cost, by playing in cash games. This showed me what kind of player i am as well as what kind i should dedicate my self/my time.

For me, after experimenting both kinds, the answer is simple: Tournaments

I prefer the accomplishment from winning or even placing in tournaments, but my pocket prefers it when I play cash. I have won more money playing cash than I have playing in tournaments.

Nah, actually if you're beating cash and you're running good you'll see money instantly. MTTs you have to play your A game for HOURS to even have a shot at making any money, and the majority of the time you'll bust even if you're Phil Ivey. The variance in MTTs is effing brutal.

Yeah, I bricked out 13 live tourneys in a row despite crushing the game. Then, finally, I made 3 final tables in my last 3 tourneys only to bust out in 8th place in each one.

Tourney 1 8th place finish, I bust out, KJ vs J3. I had KJ in BB, BTN tried to steal with J3o, I call and V binks a 3 :(
Tourney 2 8th place finish, I bust out with A9 vs KQ
Tourney 3 8th place finish, Q9o vs AA. CO limps, folds to me in bb with Q9dd, I chk. Flop Jd Td 7h, I shove for 10bb, CO snap calls with AA and I couldn't hit one of my bazillion freaking outs run twice, so sick :(

however, in the cash game, I reliably win 3 out of 4 sessions like clockwork and if I'm on my A-game I win 4 out of 5 sessions.

This is why 90% of my play is cash game and 10% is tourney.

Im primarily cash game player. Tournaments have a schedule, I don't like a schedule. The big ones online are always on Sunday when I'm out doing stuff. I like cash because I can grind late at night and whenever and however I want.
It is true that in cash games you generally play tighter, but that is just because you aren't fighting the antes and the clock. But those good at cash aren't nits, far from it. IE - Durr, Galfond, etc. Most tournament players have a huge leak of thinking they can play marginal hands out of position and without the initiative way to much and raising SD value hands IP with like 55 to a cbet on a QQ7r board.
It seems easier for cash game pros to develop their tournament game, but more difficult for MTT pros to develop their cash game skills. Playing a short stack or even a mid stack isn't rocket science. The deeper the stacks, the more problems MTT players generally have. I suppose when you are playing uber aggro in tourneys, it's difficult to dial it back a bit.

Although i prefer tournments (i have better results), i can't agree more....

I am starting to shift towards MTTs. I think I will focus on that area and play less cash games. The times I did play micro stakes online I did pretty bad. I probably play like an aggressive fish or something :D .

I feel neutral about sit and goes. I don't know what to think about those yet.

I also prefer tournaments. Everyone starts with the same amount of chips and mainly: You know exacly what you can win or lose at the begging. :)

I guess they both have pro's and cons.

Cash game -
pro's. 1.you can play when it suits you, 2. you get rewarded for winning alot of hands. 3 you get good rakeback if you can become a reg.

but it can wipe you out fast or be frustrating if you have a bad session.

tournaments
good feeling if you win one, but if you fall short of FT after 4,5,6+ hours im often left burnt out and dwelling on the big cash if its 4 figure or more

And tournaments can't?

Remind me -- which format has the deeper recommended bankroll size, MTTs or cash?

SNGs are a form of tournament. ;) In fact MTT regs mostly grind multi-table SNGs.

For me, presently, tournaments are better than cash games because there are a huge prizes to win.
