I know that I should really stop playing cashgames. Main reason is that I can simply not stick to my bankroll management and always start playing over my limits when I lose a couple of hands in a row. Also I experience a lot of bad luck on cash tables where I lose in my eyes too often with big hands. I also see that I play even more tight with very strong hands in situations where I should push and could get way more out of my opponent. I let my play change because of bad beats or setups. And in the long end this means losing for me.

I have noticed that my online mtt tournaments work out way better for me and only with this I got some winnings. So I will try not to hit the cashgames and concentrate myself on mtt tournaments more now.

Is there anyone with the same experience here? Please quote:)

I had the same problem with my bankroll managment. After loosing a few hands would go to higher limits when go back down. In the long run its a bad idea. There would be no need for bankroll managment if it wasnt. The best way around it for me was to block the ability to play higher limits. That way I had no choice but to play acording to my bankroll.

Breathe. Slow your game down, use the timer and learn to be cognizant of you and your opponents chip count. Of course, I don't need to tell you that position is key to your gameplay. I love my cash play with a nice glass of wine and some tunes. Good luck going forward, paulezzz!

Breathe.

Good morning, I don't know how long you've been playing poker, I've been playing poker for 1 year and 2 months, from my experience cash games are much fairer games than Mtts, it caught my attention, when you say you're losing us cash games with very strong hands.
When I started playing I said the same thing, that I would stop with cash because I lost with strong hands, then I learned that in cash games, strong hands are, the nuts flush, sometimes I made flush nuts and villain with smaller flush, quads , full house, cracks and sequences.
Hands that I considered very strong like AA, KK and QQ, when it is very deep, and in cash in general it is 100bbs, they are hands that lose a lot of strength if they don't crack.
In cash game you have to invest your stack according to the strength of your hand.
With 44, I in BTN raise 2.5x and villain call, flop J 7 4, it's a set, but it's not a hand that I can bet my entire stack on because the villain can have JJ or 77, so what I learned is to play according to the strength of my hand, in cash you have to be patient because it is too deep wait a block, full or straight to play big pots and play small pots with top pair.
I hope my opinion helps, gl gl.

I stopped playing cash games a long time ago. It always went the wrong way . I would win most of the time but a wrong call or bluff and everything went to hell. I WOULD GET TILTED A LOT.

i agree

Just to say i agree with the advice given. It's also a good idea to play "play chips" and test out your practices and see what kind of CONSISTENT results you get. This will give you a greater feel for how to treat the real money games.;)

I've had a similar career in cash games, and MTT is better, especially at the lower end of the players. Many of the microstake cash tables have players reading a book or two and referring to strategy guides to improve the game. and they were pretty decent, while a little higher up the players were "softer." Sometimes you have to waste time with different levels and find the correct table. start studying where you did better, so you can find success!

Rarely i play cash games. One reason is: the tournaments can take more profits and i always thinks that is more important a long time , cash games is for anxious people !

My choice is MTT

I played cash just at the start of my poker life and fortunately didn't lose huge amount of money there. That time I just was learning what to play. Now I'm playing MTTs / SnG. Cash and Spins are in the past. In my opinion there are more chances to lose selfcontrol in cash games and lose your bankroll
MTTs are funny and exciting as well. Gives you a chance to feel yourself as a part of something big!

In MTT, situational awareness is very important. Unless you play very deep-stacked tourneys, quite quickly it becomes a push or fold situation preflop. That narrows down the choices you have to make and in that sense it's easier than cash games. You generally have more fold equity too.

In cash games, at microstakes most players will look you up even if all they have is ace high. Fold equity is non existent with many players so you have to be able to control the pot size post flop and only occasionally mix in bluffs. Position is very important. And you need to know who's stupid, who's stupider, and who's an utter idiot.

I have stopped playing cash games as well. especially after I have lost a few internet sit and go's or tournaments that same session. I could still have an adequate bankroll left sometimes and ended up buying in big into
omaha cash games. this was
dangerous.

the only time i play a cash game now is if only cas0h games are on offer.
cash and tournament play are completely different. something to bear in mind.

I wouldn’t completely write off cash ganes

I agree that like potential of tournaments but you hone your skills playing cash so if you never play cash can’t become a great tournament player

Agree whole heartedly - The Cash games seem to be very weird. in fact even MTT are the same.

It seems the RNG is not so random and is designed to give bad beats to increase the rake.

There are time I shake head why a person calls a raise and then a re-raise with Q6(O) and ends up wining with a monster hand.

I can under stand calling an unraised pot but a raise and re-raise. It happens to often to be mere chance.

The question is "what do these players know that we don't" ??????????????
