I think online is much harder because you play a lot more hands so you need to play good over the time. Because you have mor moments to make some faults. In live you can see also body language but thats rare.

I think live poker is real poker! And the online game is more designed to drain more money from the player!

I'd never played poker at real life. But I think online is more hard, we saw cases that many players got the prizes to participate in real life torneys from online satellites, and after that some new online players reach tremendous results at real life.

I know people insist the games arent rigged online BUT I played for 2 years at live tables in Atlantic city.... If idiots there answered a raise with a re-raise when they had 9 2 off.... they would lose a lot of chips.... online if you have AA and the only person to keep in goes all in on 9 2

Its amazing how often they end up with at least 2 pairs.... I have even seen the flop give them quads.

I don't know , I haven't tried live casino poker to have a personal opinion .

But I read that some players are good at live , some at online , some at both , but generally yeah I have the feeling online is a little tougher , maybe it's the helping programms like the HUDs or other player softwares that helps identifying fish on tables or making best decisions during tournaments , maybe sng's . Banning these tools would be good IMHO .

I have this feeling , online you have to choose more carefully bankroll , the games you play (when you will play higher limits , etc ) , be more carefull , maybe because players are indeed tougher , but for the time being I don't have enough proof (whether it's tougher indeed or not ) :) Maybe because I aint good player , plus I don't have live casino experience , only my games and what I read :)

Yes, online has more strong players. It gives you experience without risk. Many online players don't have money for live games. While many live players have money but are not so good.

I read somewhere in cardschat a relatively serious poker player who usually won in live poker lost more at online poker.

Live vs online

I am a pretty decent player live, win in the money, most tourneys I have ever played, however online, mediocre at best, rarely in the money. I play pretty much the same way. I find it way easier to win live. Anyone else? What is your experience.

I feel like it can depend on the stakes you are playing at. I have heard that playing $1, 2$ live is similar to playing 5c 10c online. Were you playing in the same stakes in the online and live tournaments?

I agree that it is easier to win money playing live. I use online to study and there is always a game going. You have to game select and the live games are only good at certain time. Only taking about cash games here.

Unfortunately I have experience only in online poker. I would love to play live. Despite the fact that I have never played live, it seems to me that it will be much easier, since the dealer deals the cards, not the computer. I think this is a big difference.

main aspect that makes online poker little bit harder is that bluffing in online much more easier and frequent thing

as for me, live poker harder then online. bluffing, making heavy bets, staying in game till river etc easier in online bacause there is no distracting visual contact like in live

I think you need to play a more technical game online. There aren't as many reads in every hand that you can take advantage of. I do think online is hard then face to face games.

I played before black Friday and ran up a free roll to over $200 online but never took it too serious. I've played live since and started tracking my sessions in 2014. I just came back to online last month. I've been doing well cashing in 5 freerolls but I have been getting slapped around and sucked out on at 2NL which is a big ego shot since I play much larger live. As such, I'm hesitant to make a deposit until I can at least take a 75-95 cent free roll and run it up to 10 bucks at 2NL. 6th time is the charm maybe? LOL

Until then, live has been easier for me but it may not be a fair comparison. It was nice to see some others thought they were about the same difficulty and just different and need adjustments. Hopefully I've just been running bad and I'll be able to build a roll with the next freeroll money.

What's your sample size in each format? I'm feeling the same issue. Without a HUD it's tough to determine if it's just run bad or if I need to make other adjustments. I'm doing fine in the freerolls I think. Just donating all of my freeroll money to the 2NL 6 max $1 max buy community so far. My freeroll winnings are a total of $4.15 though so I'm not losing hope just yet.

Live is 100% better than online. Good vibes and good feeling too. Online is not so good,

Online and LIVE is totally different game play

LIVE you can get a feel for the players

Online you have to trust your instincts and play position more carefully

Yes, you are right and it is actually so. And write correctly who speaks about feelings, to feel the opponent's card much simpler, but also much fun to play live! That's different. Even online cameras do not give anything in common, because I have not yet found any room where a live dealer would give us cards, playing with a webcam. But one thing is also true, without online poker, I would not have learned to play poker, would not understand their actions and would not be one of the best at the table in real life.

I've only played live a few times however I would prefer to play live over online any day. I especially enjoy the social aspect of live, this of course will depend on the table your at but makes the game more enjoyable.

Not sure about suckouts, in my last small local tourney I caught runner-runner straight against two pairs on flop. Lost 4 coin flips in a row after that though.

Most likely it has a lot to do with the volume we play online. We just see more coolers as we can play 6 tables which will total a few thousand hands in just a few days.
Who knows how long it will take to play 4-5k in a live tournament without a shot clock.

Live is way easier. Although it depends on where you play online.
