With a bit of forward planning 5 minutes work Ok. there is the odd occasion where longer would be helpful, but you can always tick the away box. the program seems to account for that....or does it?
Sometimes the 5 minute break isn't quite long enough.
I do find that when I am more organized, like making a snack in advance, it works.
I would prefer 7 minutes as a happy medium for the many folks that would like 10 min breaks.
Good luck at the tables.
I rarely play long tou9rneys, but when I do I plan my meals before. I play on pokerstars and if I'm doing something where I need longer I transfer the App to my phone. Do other sites have Apps?
Before you start playing in a tournament you already know that this can probably take several hours and that's why I try to make coffee and food beforehand so that I don't have to worry about it during the tournament. For me 5 minutes are enough. If it took longer then the tournament would take a lot longer and then some people would have problems with the blind intervals and we would have another discussion. I believe that there will always be people who will prefer one or the other, but unfortunately you can't please everyone
One thing I think is that there should not be a break when the game gets down to a few players from the bubble point. Why stop then ? They should be able to over ride the breaks then. My luck that would be the time when I make a dash for the john only to get back with the game started and me losing on a good set of cards that could put me in the money.
I think if you play long tournaments it is a very good reason to relax, but when you just started playing it is inappropriate and when a lot of people really wait for the end of all hands
