TBH I've been opening weak from EP like the QJ hand. It's a problem.

i think its fine in some situations as long as you dont overdo it, people give tight ranges EP and absurdly wide ones late so its an adjustment you can make to open you ep range a bit

I much prefer opening a hand like QJ instead of 33.

Yeah I do it a lot and get a fair amount of respect. Thing is, I hate folding pocket pairs and I hate open limping so 22-66 from EP is a problem spot for me. Anyway 28k at 600/1200/150. 5740 left, just less than 4000 cash. I shouldn't have bought in tbh, but I'd be happy with any cash. I usually suck in these big field tournies.

New table, no history, shortish stack. Bad times.

I usually raise small PP's.

If facing a raise, I usually fold. Unless... usual LAG talk.

I tend to just fold small PP from ep. I generally play in the region of $2 BIs though and raising them from ep just isn't profitable so what I say here may not be applicable (although the field does look fairly weak for a $27 BI)

It will be in a SCOOP. Hell I think I'm decent at MTTs but I'm weak for a $27 BI. Hating the lack of a refresh button on the new info pane, I'm usually smashing it to pieces approaching the bubble.

Yea I don't know why they got rid of refresh button, that sucks. I just click on stats and then go back to info which is basically same but I have to click twice as many times.

My reasoning for the raise is two fold.

1. I'm likely to be ahead anyway.
2. I've mentioned before a Gavin Smith quote "I just bet, nobody ever hits anyway." To me, that statement is deeper than it's delivery. In select situations with small PP's I can represent AA post flop, if it feels right, because of my PF raise. Especially with a small board. It works. If the board starts getting bets, oh well.

If I raise and get re raised, then I fold. But calls be good. ;)

Chip leader at my table, but well under average. 57k at 800/1600/200, average is 66k, cash in 400 people. 4300ish left.

Fingers crossed that doesn't happen to me! Just over 40k at 800/1600/200, very close to cash. Is no one else left in this?

Well using this argument you may as well start raising 67s type hands as well since you can pick up decent equity with them more often, nobody will have a hand that connects with small boards in your ep raising range so you'll get paid off when you do hit by some top pair and overpair type hands and you can still blow people off hands by repping a strong range.

Because you've got nothing to fall back on.

A good amount of time you're still ahead post flop with any pair. And there's that whole set thing. With 76 you got nothing but a bluff post flop. Well, unless you hit the miracle flop. Which seems to be the norm for me as of late. :p

Shortstacked.

This is taking longer than I would have prefered.

And I am only 1-tabling cause will go to bed as soon as out, and think that might happen soon.

Edit: Out. AQ<JJ
Goodnight.

curious if the QJs fold is marginal v RBownds shove. He's a reg and gonna ship wide from LP. Think it's good though....Just folded AJo when JuanMott shoved (nit) and Camel called. Good in hindsight. Bad shove from Camel I thought with TT on Q high board into dead pot, whats he beating if he gets called? If he just wanted to iso, shove pre, no?

cheers. went badly, couldn't hit a thing and he got there in some pretty nasty spots with not many outs. he didn't play very well, way too fit or fold, but i couldn't exploit it well enough and didn't get any help from the cards. going to work on my hu game soon.
