I advocate that freerolls ruin beginners, because with a weak psyche and nerves it is impossible to play there! Too aggressive players, play with any garbage.
I do not agree with you. freerolls, in my opinion, are great for beginners, despite the large number of bingo players. Freerolls allow a beginner to master the basics of the game well. Everyone has the right to play as he wants, and even in the craziest freeroll, a player can get a result if he follows the elementary basics of the game, starting with a banal disciplined game.

Freerolls ruin novice players, because it is unrealistic to play there with a weak psyche and nerves, some people think so. Players who are too aggressive play with any kind of rubbish. If a player really wants to progress and learn something without investing money, freeroll is the way to go.

Freerolls are the perfect way to learn the basics in Poker, even with all the Idiot's that play all-in or fold strategy, The best thing is they cost nothing but a little of your time and if you think freerolls are tough, try playing some high stake games where some players will Staddle several times before the cards are even dealt raising the stakes to 8 Times or even 16 Times the normal blind size,
With "Straddles" every bet has to be doubled the previous bet so it can get very high, Fast. I know from experience in playing them from time to time and it can be very frightening especially for a novice player.
At least with a freeroll, you are not allowed to straddle, and if you sit back and can avoid the idiot element, the game soon calms down to a more realistic poker game.

I actually think they are a good way for new players to get a feel for the game without losing any money. I get what the author means as their are lots of aggro players but this helps with building a strategy to beat them and make it into the money or better still win the thing.

freerolls are a good start to apply your poker skills, however they are very different from tournaments with money on stake

I disagree! Freerolls should be treated like a free lottery. If you win, great! Lose - well, another time, then. And that's it. And there's no need to talk about the beginners' psyche. If the psyche is weak, it is forbidden to leave the house at all nowadays! Especially if you're from Ukraine. It's strange to read such things from you. I think that Ukrainians are already the most stress resistant at least in Europe. :ninja:
agree. freerolls are more of a casino than poker, it’s not worth waiting for an adequate game there, the guys there are happy to throw you all-in and win even when you have AA

Players aggressively playing bad hands against you with no investment to lose? That is a good thing.
Stick to the fundamentals, don't fall into the lotto mentality trap, relax and enjoy the format for what it is, and get free money.

Be thankful that many new players either take forever (or never) break out of the freeroll or play chip mentality when they start playing the small stakes. They're the ones who keep our economy running

You get some dodgy players in freerolls but they are a good way to learn how to play the game and potentially win some money for no investment.

Good to understand the game, which hands win etc but when you start to play for real buy ins then the silly plays tend to go away the higher the buy ins.

I played a few freerolls and questions some things I have seen even when in the money playing for the larger prizes but I guess the mentality is they haven't bought into the tournaament.

In my opionion freerolls are great for new players to learn to observe other players , patience ,selfdiscipline and build your bankroll from scratch.A bankroll never lies in the longrun,if the bankroll gets smaller keep on playing until you have learned how to make it bigger.Giving up is the only way to realy loose

Well in my opinion its not that bad, sure you cant win any serious money, but you can atleast practice. And if they do allin all the time, you can also use that to your advantage sometimes, you can exploiut their mistakes.

Why do freerolls ruin new players?
The majority of freeroll tournaments bring together new players, even if they don't hold strong cards are All-in, and the actual big tournaments are far from complete.

All-in at the beginning of each freeroll from players - is a classic

I think yes because there is no risk and they don’t have to play their best game .. they just go all in and hope for the best … call everything play every hand …

Freerolls can be both a good option for beginners and a bad one. Everything depends primarily on the beginner himself and his goals. The one who can take something useful for himself and thanks to this improve his skills will have better chances for further normal development.

I think that most of the time, an aggressive player does not mean that he is good or professional, aggressive play is a poker strategy.
The other thing is that there is no difference compared to other low buy-in cash poker games, however, we can sometimes take advantage of some aggressive players to win chips, especially with beginner players, or those who want to rebuy ;)

I think it's a good way to start playing and learning the game, but they really are tournaments that have very aggressive players, especially at the beginning.

I don't think freerolls should be taken that seriously. You don't invest anything there, but you can get any prizes in the form of good tickets or dollars. Freerolls allow you to sharpen your peace of mind. If you can't survive the tilt in the freeroll, it's too early for you to play tournaments where you invest your money.

Freerolls give you the opportunity to win some money without investing your own money.
