Things have been pretty rough lately but that is to be expected. We scrapped the team to rebuild. There are not many bright spots to be had for the rest of the season. We have lost the last 5 games, playing in Atlanta now. I'm sure that we will get a look at some of the new players that we acquired, looking forward to some of the new pitchers.

We won 1 out of 3 from Atlanta. Not great but okay. Bright spots were the performances of new team members acquired in the trades. Josiah Gray's pitching was masterful, with 10 strikeouts in only 5 innings. Next came Riley Adams, who got his first major league home run in the ninth inning of game 2 , to score the winning runs. This will be a sign of things to come.

Not a chance. We traded away our stars for the future. Probably a good thing. We will see how things go in the next 2 or 3 years.

Well, we just finished a three game set with Atlanta. No love, we lost all 3 games.
We are at least tied for last with Miami, or all alone by ourselves. Washington has been close, but just not quite there in the end. New players are coming along and will get better. No game tomorrow, then 2 games with Toronto. The first game Tuesday night will be shown only on YouTube.

Yes! Washington just beat the Toronto Blue Jays 8-5. This after winning yesterday
12-6 over the Jay's. After losing 7 games in a row after the fire sale, the Nationals have a 2 game wining streak. Tomorrow is an off day, then we will be at the Milwaukee Brewers for 3 games, taking us through the weekend.

Miami won 2 out of 3 from Washington Tuesday thru Thursday. At least we managed one game. Tonight we are in New York to start a 3 game series with the Mets. The Mets were doing okay until about 3 weeks ago then the wheels fell off, and they are struggling. 5 games under .500. That is not too good. Maybe we can win 2 out of 3 games.

Things in New York started out great. We won the first game 2-1. The game was a great spectator game for fans. Washington lost the second game yesterday 5-3. We were in the game late and lost it in the 8th inning. Today the game was close early, then the Mets bats came alive and we ended up losing 9-4. At least we got one game .Phillies travel to Washington tomorrow for a three game series.

Washington was perfect in the last 3 games with Philadelphia. We lost them all. Yup zero wins and 3 defeats. The Nats can't buy a win. Now we get a 3 game series starting tonight with the New York Mets. Maybe we can win 1, 2 or 3?

Great finish today for Washington. The Mets were ahead 3-2, last of the ninth inning.
We had 2 on, first and third with one out. Andrew Stevenson got a base hit to tie the game. Next was Carter Kieboom with runners on 1st and 3rd. Carter got a base hit, and the Nat's won 4-3. Great game to watch. That was Carters first walk off hit. Washington ended up winning 2 of 5 against the Mets. Tomorrow, Washington starts a three game series with the Braves in Atlanta. Washington's goal this year, after the fire sale, is to not lose 100 games.

Almost. Washington won 1 out of 3 from Atlanta We went to extra innings last night but ended up losing 7-6. Tonight we start a 3 game set in Pittsburgh against the Pirates. Maybe we could win 2 or 3? Hope so.

We are done in Pittsburg. Once again we went 1 win and 2 loses. Really in a rut now.
Now we come home, starting tomorrow with the Marlins for 3 games.

True to form again. Washington lost two of three again, this time to the Miami
Marlins .Still in our rut, We were ahead in the last game until the ninth inning and blew the lead again. Dang! Now we have the Colorado Rockies coming to town.
for a Friday, Saturday, Sunday series.

Good team but they won't win anything, it's very difficult for them, they lack rotation and a good pitcher.

Yes, we are in trouble, as expected. Once again we win 1 of 3 games, this time against the Colorado Rockies. At least we won today's game, so we have a one game winning streak to take to Miami for a three game series with the Marlins. This will be a battle to see who ends up last in the National League East.

What happened is called "a fire sale" The Nationals management determined that they could not win the NL East division this year. With contracts expiring and BIG money coming due, key players were traded to contenders for high value farm system players. The Nationals got 12 young talented players of the future for their current talent. Hopefully the high value players we got will blossom and and carry us into the future. Time will tell...

Much better. We got out of Miami with 2 wins out of 3 games for once. Good for the Nationals. Things got a little dicey in the 9th of the final game. Washington was up 3-0 in the last of the 9th. Miami got 2 runs, to only trail by one but Finnigan closed the door for the last out and we won 3-2. Now we have 4 games in Cincinnati.

Ouch, 4 games in Cincinnati and we only managed to win one. Not too great but at least we will avoid the distinction of losing 100 games.. Washington is 64 and 92 with only 6 games left. We start a 3 game series tonight with the Colorado Rockies. Hopefully, the mile high air in Denver will favor Juan Soto's bat.

Okay Nats fans, we are done in Colorado and coming home to Washington for the last series of the year. Three games with thr Boston Red Sox. We only won one game in Denver and lost two. This is a huge series for Boston to end the year. The Red Sox are right in the middle of the American League wild card race. Winning in Washington is really important to them, this should be interesting. Amazing that after 159 games, wild card spots in the American League are still undecided.

Washington signed their first player in the rebuilding process. Alcides Escobar, shortstop, was just signed to a one year contract. Let the process begin.

Washington claimed a right handed pitcher.Francisco Perez from the Cleveland Indians. Left handed Kyle McGowin was also sent to AAA Rochester. At least this is a start.
