I played at RPM Poker & Poker Host (merge) recently no problems depositing, but lost my deposit so I can't say the withdraw is smooth.
But I do think in almost every case it would be satisfactory service and only take about 2 weeks for a check to arrive.
I sent various e-mails to guest services at RPM Poker and I think they have a A+ system.
As some of you were saying you miss PS/PP. I miss iPoker the most.

It's actually quite safe and makes business sense, so it's really no more a leap of faith than giving a site your credit card number. The major US facing sites all use foreign wire processors, so you're going to be given a foreign name and address, big deal. These sites & networks aren't in the habit of scamming deposits from US players, that would be cutting their own throats. They received a pretty major boost in US traffic when the big 3 got shut down to US players, they'd be suicidal to kill the goose laying the golden eggs now.

Isn't the issue more that these companies could get their assets frozen? The sites themselves probably have to float a lot of cash, a run on the bank could sink them overnight.

I got a race going on and revloution as I have learned the hard way is not a choice for low rollers with a $500 min

But NOV 25th I have a BOVADA vs CARBON and the BOVADA cashout is 2x as much as carbon so they should arrive at the same time

BOVADA has already approved withdrawl and havent heard for carbon yet so which ever come first will be my site to play on. People can cay traffic or the games but the quickness of payout is the answer. They both offer one free check a month

THE RACE IS ON

Sure the US can always seize accounts. Well, not always, but in US jurisdictions or those that the US has shared treaties around such things. Stars and FT had funds seized all the time for many years before Black Friday, it was a cost of doing business that didn't affect players other than perhaps checks bouncing on occasion which were reissued from other processors. That still happens today with Merge checks, for instance, which will sometimes bounce.

I thought the concern was around dealing with "foreign" senders/receivers for wire transfers. Since the processors are foreign, that's unavoidable and nothing really to be concerned about. If the transaction is documented and traceable, the poker sites will honor it.

I only play live, but thinking about playing online too. Either Lock or Bovada. However, I don't want to waste my time if I only stand to make peanuts. I'd start with maybe $100 tops deposit.

I'm not sure how long carbon takes. In my experience, you can pretty much expect the check from Bovada exactly two weeks from the date of the requested withdraw.

I used to play online but since BF I just dont trust anything enough. I've made a few $50 deposits on a few different skins but mostly for entertainment not because I thought I could run it up and cash up no prob

Still playing, making good money, and successfully cashing out multiple times in under 2 weeks. It's def not like it used to be when I would just wire back money in 2 days on Tilt but hey, I can't complain!

Are you implying that you only received 75% of what you requested for withdrawal? If so, was this due to fees, or an error?

So far, I've had a positive experience on Bovada. There are a few downfalls though. There is no fee for a withdraw (as long as you only do it once a month) but there is a small fee for a deposit. It is only about a percent, however. The biggest downfall is that you do not have a screen name, just a number. This bothered me at first; I have adjusted to it though. Post black friday, it is about as good as it gets. I can put up with the small inconveniences but I could not put up with a 25% fee to withdraw.

I don't see how Bovada could be "as good as it gets." IMO any of the other US-facing networks are MUCH better, but to each his own.

BTW Merge and Revolution both allow one free cashout per month, either check or WU, with the first fee reimbursed each month. And fees aren't 25%, lol. It's fixed at $25 per check or 10% per WU. No fees to deposit with visa, and WU deposit fees are typically refunded if over a certain amount. WPN by all accounts has the fastest payouts and easiest VISA deposits.

About the only advantage I might see with Bovada is extremely soft games and sometimes quicker payouts. With WPN and now WU being supported at more sites, they've pretty much lost that advantage. Not sure why anyone bothers with checks when WU is available either.

I wasn't saying that other sites charge a 25% fee for a withdraw, but unless I am reading it wrong, it was implied in jordanbillie's post that he paid that on Juicy. Bovada has its flaws, which I outlined, but every U.S.-facing site seems to leave a lot to be desired. Bovada's flaws, I have been able to live with, and on the plus side; I have been able to play online poker, post Black Friday.

I wasn't sure how to interpret his post because he didn't elaborate on how much he requested and what fees he paid. If he requested $100 by check, then the $25 fixed fee would result in $75, so yeah in that case it's 25% but people typically aren't withdrawing only $100 at a time I don't think. I've never withdrawn less than $1000. But again at most US-facing networks like Merge or Revolution that fee should be refundable once per month.

As to Bovada and being able to play since BF, my point was that it isn't your only choice. I do get that some people are okay with Bovada and even like it, and that's fine, but to me it's just not the online poker that I enjoy. I didn't like bodog much to begin with, but would play there occasionally. But as soon as they changed to Bovada and went to anonymous players, I uninstalled it. Not only do I not like their software and approach to the game, but their philosophy about winning poker players in general -- they are on record as preferring to cater specifically to losing recreational casino/sportsbook players (which is why the games are so soft) while doing everything they can to discourage winning players from their site. They actually said that winning poker players are "bad for the game."

Personally I would only consider playing there if they were the only US option, which they aren't by a long shot -- as I said I consider every other US-facing site superior to Bovada, but that's just me.

those are some heavy fees. So online poker for casual US players is pretty bad math.

It's still free money, but sort of silly since playing for high stakes is out of the question.

I am playing about every site that allows US players. Most of them are slow playing off and I have had a few talking about having trouble getting a check cashed with poker site logo. I always as much as possible request they put money on my debit card which I always use to deposit, so this works for me. They are all slow playing tho. hope this answered your question
