I wasn't saying that other sites charge a 25% fee for a withdraw, but unless I am reading it wrong, it was implied in jordanbillie's post that he paid that on Juicy. Bovada has its flaws, which I outlined, but every U.S.-facing site seems to leave a lot to be desired. Bovada's flaws, I have been able to live with, and on the plus side; I have been able to play online poker, post Black Friday.
I wasn't sure how to interpret his post because he didn't elaborate on how much he requested and what fees he paid. If he requested $100 by check, then the $25 fixed fee would result in $75, so yeah in that case it's 25% but people typically aren't withdrawing only $100 at a time I don't think. I've never withdrawn less than $1000. But again at most US-facing networks like Merge or Revolution that fee should be refundable once per month.
As to Bovada and being able to play since BF, my point was that it isn't your only choice. I do get that some people are okay with Bovada and even like it, and that's fine, but to me it's just not the online poker that I enjoy. I didn't like
bodog much to begin with, but would play there occasionally. But as soon as they changed to Bovada and went to anonymous players, I uninstalled it. Not only do I not like their software and approach to the game, but their philosophy about winning poker players in general -- they are on record as preferring to cater specifically to losing recreational casino/sportsbook players (which is why the games are so soft) while doing everything they can to discourage winning players from their site. They actually said that winning poker players are "bad for the game."
Personally I would only consider playing there if they were the only US option, which they aren't by a long shot -- as I said I consider every other US-facing site superior to Bovada, but that's just me.
