I hope so! Many great players are based in the US, and poker is not gambling!

I'd love a return of a site where you can pretty much find whatever you want 24/7 because of its global reach.
Up all night and bored? No problem! Plenty of Pacific Rim and Australian players there to give you a game.

Prizes in MTT's always huge and the fields large increasing chances to make the bubble if you are a decent player.

Hope to see it in my lifetime anyway.

Does anybody know what is holding back PS from returning? I'm curious as to how serious they are locked out of the US.

poker stars was the best site I ever played on. They returned all money from accounts and I think their promotion rewards were fair. I wish they would do more lobbying in congress and get approval for return to US.

Honestly for me Pokerstars was good because of the sheer volume of players on the site. You could sign up for 27,25,90, or 180 man sit and gos with barely any waiting. Also they had huge tournaments. big cash games going. All this people of the volume.

I personally like Carbon Poker better then stars. If there were as many people on Carbon poker as Poker Stars, I would choose carbon. Poker stars is a great site and i enjoyed playing on there. But carbon is a great site too. All it needs is more players and they could expand all there games, SnGs, and tournaments. That would be a nice site to play on.

Us players are complaining they want stars back but thats becasue it was worldwide with a ton of volume. If carbon had the same volume i would prefer carbon. Its a great site just needs more players i think.

sorry to break it to you , NO US site will ever get similar traffic to pokerstars while there is a chance that the DOJ will swoop in and seize the assets. To get the traffic required means that it will have to be a majority of ROW players making up the shortfall and rest of the world players were bitten by UB ,absolute and Full tilt with funds seized and not knowing if they would get them back,so the vast majority of ROW players will not be putting significant sums in a similar situation. Why would we , we can play on stars and KNOW that our funds are safe.

We are talking about Pokerstars being here and being regulated. There is zero chance they would ever return any other way.

Does the term 'regulated' equate to 'taxed'.

Can anyone tell me why PS was banned in the US to begin with. Did it have something to do with the IRS noit getting their piece of the pie?

more to do with U.S. casinos not getting their piece of the pie. most if not all poker sites were willing to pay taxes to the IRS if laws would have been written but instead they wrote a law back in 2006 making it illegal for banks to handle gambling transactions. horse racing and lottery got a pass. (if i'm not mistaken)

1 - the agreement with the DOJ,

2 - the intense efforts by all the B&M casino's to gain a good foothold in an industry they originally shunned.

3 - Stars, as we would want them, is mainly interested in online Poker, and the whole gaming argument includes other forms of gambling. IMHO, this is the bigger bugaboo. slots, craps roulette, blackjack, (all of them!) which are different from online poker in many important ways (namely they are house games, poker is a service game). I for one would want to see separation from those house games.
