I am just wondering, would it be good or bad for regs from Europe or other eligible countries if US players will be allowed to play on PS?

Ofcourse traffic would be higher but how about competition? :)

It would be amazing because it will definitely attract alot of fish.(especially because its going to be a big deal and alot of new players are going to hear about it).

it will be great day for online poker if poker stars return to the usa.
then the weak sites will fade away.it was one of my favorite site.

At this moment PS had about 25k-30k active players , my client is down so i didnt had right number of players . If USA joins it will be over 70k-100k active players i think.

We have a long ways to go, a majority of the states will have to legalize online poker before that can become even a mere possibility at least to my understanding. Were going on 3 years and only have the states that favor gambling, which have made it legal. I would bet on at least 5 years, with things moving so slow, hope I'm wrong.

PS returning to the US would be a major improvement to the poker scene. Allowing US players to compete on an international stage with the elite of the poker world would have a huge economic and political impact on the image of the American player. It would be a win win situation.

I couldn't agree more that it would be a win win situation but I still can't see it happening. There is too much pride that has to be swallowed still. So tired of stupid off sites with slow traffic, I want the real sites back! Can't believe that you can smoke weed legally in America but you can't play online poker! Such a joke.

Click on state to see legal status of online poker playing. As of now, it is regulated state-by-state. http://www.legaluspokersites.com/

Although illegal to gamble online in California, we have one of the heaviest traffic states for online betting.

It must be said, that Calvin Ayers is guilty of some really unscrupulous actions and goes without saying, he deserves to be on list. There is a good reason he hides out in Antigua.

I wish this was true to US online players. But, others say that pokerstars will not be returning this year.

I understand that only some U.S. states are taking the initiative and if results are positive, may return at all.

I really don't see them back into the market for years if ever. Heck, everything is so messed up now (as usual) in our government. Hope I'm wrong.

I just wish I could go back in a time to a point USA players could play on stars and play some micro stakes and see what it was like.

It seems a recent poll of US players using Regulated poker site in New Jersey prefer this to unregulated sites like poker stars by 65%. This means that if all state go to regulated poker the sites would grow exponentially and be in effect larger than Poker Stars anyways. That would be a much better answer for big player fields in the long run. These regulated sites will be trusted by many more as regulation takes place state to state. that is what online poker needs not some unregulated site like Poker Stars to come back.. just my two cents..

Not understanding how you figure poker stars being unregulated, but coming back, stork. If its coming back, it would have to be regulated. And how many American players do you think there are, online? You would be surprised that the "huge" number just doesn't exist, and in fact AFTER poker stars removed the USA from playing, traffic actually INCREASED. The US market contribution to the number of players online is nowhere near what some think. The global poker site poker stars surely didn't suffer any hardship from losing the US market. But more unscrupulous sites moved in to grab the now desperate players willing to play anywhere, and dozens took the money and ran. Another thing people don't realize, say every state had legislation, do you think those states want another state getting their citizens action? If i lived in Kentucky, but played on a site in New York, the only revenue KY would get is taxes from me,IF i won anything. They might require the citizens to only play inside their state, this of course is speculation on my part. Besides there are states that have laws against any gambling outright.Any wonder why there isn't a rush by all the states to get online poker, there's a myriad of possible backlashes that could arise unforeseen until after the fact. Of course i may be just full of it and rambling on without any basis.

Hers hoping Poker Stars never returns to US , Online poker need regulated poker and the new sites would grow beyond the unregulated sites., such as poker Stars..I for one would be much more comfortable with true regulated poker...

We are talking about Pokerstars being here and being regulated. There is zero chance they would ever return any other way.

The article by mentioning Party Poker implied that Party is seeking to return to the US market. At the time Party left the US market in 2006 it was the number one site on the internet. Poker Stars was number two but acceded the top spot when Party voluntarily shut down the US portion of its business. I would like to see them both return.
I never played party poker but alot of PokerStars. I'd love a chance to play Party! We need our Pokersites Back!

SO many laws on the books have to be updated and/or changed in order to make online gambling "clean".

I just wanna know the site Im playing is using a program that is truly random and not "rigged"

At times there would be up to 200,000 players playing real money on Stars...how many do you see at any given site in the U.S. now? Maybe 5,000, TOPS!

Players really need to stop clinging to the old paradigm. It will never be what it was like prior to Black Friday. NEVER.

We will have internet poker, it will just be different. And it will take time, and there will be hiccups and do-overs, and there will be market winners and losers. But it will never be the same, so get over it.

Yea, it was fun. You have a large variety and sizes of games on PS. I would play the 0.10 cent SNGs. lol. and one could move up to the 0.25 cent the .050 cent on up. Of course the 0.10 ones were total luck. But, If you won one hand, all you had to do was blind out and make it to the money.

Some of the other sites have good games, but no one at the tables. I mean for peeps like me who like to play very low stakes. lol

I suspect or hope PS will return soon to US players. Hang on.

Good luck,

mike

Yep,

Obama & Company has hurt us very badly. And, the Attorney General really sucks. Poker wise that is.

At my age, I don't get into politics, just judge how they feel about On Line Poker.

Of course, the administration is dancing to the tone of the brick and mortar casino Billionaires who want to protect their interest.

Just thing, they pay a billion dollars for a casino, and "Joe Six Pack" sits in the comfort of their home and play on line. lol

Good luck,

mike

pokerstars to return

I've never played on poker stars but,I hear they are regulated by a strict government body unlike, american poker sites (kuwanni gaming commision)which has had problems in the past .What we need more than anything is a strict regulating body .

Good luck,
I feel the same way. I am not even necessary attached to just Poker Stars alone. I just would like some more options.

I would love to try out a micro sit and go. That sounds like it would be crazy.

Pokerstars was awesome. You never had to wait long for a tournament with hundreds and thousands of players. You had a wide variety of sit-n-gos, tourneys, MTT sit-n-goes, etc. Please come back!
