Oddsmaker

I, too, received an offer from Oddsmaker to play poker on that site. I downloaded the software, entered my bonus code and they did, indeed, put $50 into my account.

Reading the fine print, I saw that I had to play 200 raked hands, wait at least 30 days, could not withdraw less than $50 (note that one must win or at least stay even to qualify to withdraw), and had to pay a minimum fee of $8 (other options were more onerous).

Playing at $1-$2 limits, I ran my balance up to $103 or $104, but in a couple of bad sessions, went back down to $39. Then, when I got it back to $50 and some change, I requested the withdrawal of $42 (allowing them to charge the $8 fee). It took approximately a week, but I did get the $42.

This (Oddsmaker) is not a particularly good site, with few players and tables (except during the freerolls). They are not responsive to helpful suggestions (such as indicating which players are sitting out). All in all, I would not recommend it.

But, I did get $42 from them for "free."

I tend to avoid gimmicks to get me to sign up. They ain't giving you something for nothing for a reason. I hate jumping through hoops in order to fulfill requirements. Just like those 'rebates' offered on products. JUST GIVE ME THE LOWER PRICE IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Thanks for the heads-up on this shadey organizations.

Ok. Signed up for the oddsmaker.com promo, free $200. I have followed all the rules and only bet on straight up sports and casino. In one day have taken $200 to $2,000 and have a $800 bet on WV -1 tonight, so if they win by one will be at the $3,500 mark. This is well within their limit of only winning $2,000 on any single sports game bet. I have also played well over their 15X requirement, so lets hope WV wins by 2 and I have a chance for the impossible payout. Will keep you posted.

ODDS Marker is a Scam

I recieved a letter in the mail that odds maker will match your first deposit up to $200. I deposted $200 dollars and $200 was put into my account by Odds Marker. I placed several bets during the NCAA tournament with the $400 dollars. I won my parlays which was a total of about $1,400 in winnings and I wanted to cash out. I called Odds Maker and was told my bets were illegal and they reset my account back to $200 dollars because I wasnt supossed to parlay bets with the $200 dollars for free play money. I asked what about the bets I made with the $200 I deposited and won. I was told sorry there isnt anything we can do for you since the money was used with the free play money. I demanded my $200 back I deposited and oddsmaker had the nerve to tell me since my bets were illegal they didnt count as a wager and if I wanted my money back I would have to place another wager and if I won then I could cash out then. The operator then said sorry all your winnings are forefited and I was hung up on. Also my account was cancelled and I never saw the $200 they stole for my visa account. At this point my only recourse was to contact visa which I did and filed a complant when Oddsmarker.com was notified of the complaint I was sent the following email from Tony Massina this email is nicely put compared to the vociemail he left me making sereval threats.

If you follow through with your threat to illegally and fraudulently dispute and charge back the legitimate credit card deposits you made on our site, we will have no option but to have our legal department and credit department take any and all necessary action against you and may effect your name and your credit. You also risk facing criminal charges of fraud and theft as well as having your name blacklisted in the gaming industry. All computer IP addresses, chats, phone conversations and emails as well as proof of promotions sent in the mail will be used as proof! I suggest you email or call me to let me know that you will NOT be disputing any charges. If I do not hear from you I will know how to proceed!

Seems to me that their rules are jerkish but well within their rights. And withholding a legit credit card authorization is fraud.

Is it really legit that he deposited 200 bucks and they told him that his bets were not legal? I would tell my bank that they did not follow through with their obligations and that I want to reverse charges.

Edit: You did read where they said his bets werent valid, even though he used his own money (for at least half the bets), they took ALL of the winnings away. Then on top of it, they closed his account and took the 200 he deposited. At the very least, even if they were not going to give him credit for the winnings, he should had gotten his 200 dollars back. I surely would reverse the charges.

Thanks for the heads up but why do people try the less reputable poker rooms then complain about them?

These little known poker rooms have more negatives than positives.

1. cash out problems
2. weird rules
3. this is the most important one - they all make use of prop players, players who are paid to play and fill up the tables to make the place look busy. bottom line? most of the time you're way out of your league

My account was closed because I demanded my $200 back after they had the nerve to tell me my bets were illegal and didnt count so in order to cashout the $200 I would have to place another bet. I already placed and won several bets and why would I want to continue to do busines with this website. When is customer service important. Oddsmakers.com is a low buget scam. Bottom line is I got ripped off and consider it leason learned. My intention wasnt to try to call visa and dispute the charges but to get the $200 that was stolen from my account. Stay away trust me stick to bodog they always pay!!! I have collected over 15k in sportsbook winnings from Bodog last year and usually paid quickly.

You know we could all sign up on oddsmaker, find someone who has deposited real money into that site, and lose our free $50 to that person. Then the real money depositor can cash out. That's how you get back at the rip off artists.

ok thanks for the heads up^....i to was going to deposit and try my luck at oddsmaker but i think i`ll just stick at my home base for now.i do have a question though.does anyoneelse out there find the blackjack tables at ub to be alittle to one sided?either one.elimination or single.i have played money b/j for 20 years and have never seen anything so unfair and unreal.is this just the "cooler" "no luck" thing i seem to have the past year or does others out there feel the same as i that the b/j there is alittle 1 sided?

I too was considering signing up with this site but after this post there is no way, i also checked the review and indeed it is a D-, what a scam, how can the scum operating sites like this be free from prosecution? if you went and stole money from someone on the street im sure you would end up in court trying to save your ass (unsucessfully), these assholes can do it from their computers and hide behind their lawyers and loop-holes in legislation how BULLSHIT.

I suggest the OP make this thread in all the other reputable poker forums to ensure noone else falls into this trap, also any site that is affiliated should be avoided no matter what bonus/promotion they offer you.

Bottom line is PS/Full Tilt for the win!! (screw the promotions all i care about is honesty)

Oddsmaker.com - 866-414-0667

I got a call from this jackass Tony
"I need you to contact me IMMEDIATELY to discuss a serious situation regarding your account. There has been credit card charge backs. You may have made them on purpose or by mistake (the charges showed up as different amounts and under different names). If knowingly, it is fraud and a criminal offense. We cannot and will not allow ourselves to be robbed and taken advantage of! YOU OWE ODDSMAKER.COM $200 SO FAR. The money must be paid back in full and immediately without delay if you wish to avoid possible criminal charges of fraud and this showing up on your permanent credit report. This must BE PAID BACK DIRECTLY TO US AS A NEW CREDIT CARD DEPOSIT. DO NOT REVERSE THE DISPUTE. I await your immediate attention to this matter. If you and I are unable or you are unwilling to discuss and settle this matter, I will be forced to have our legal and credit departments look into all options available to us both legally and financially as well as having your name blacklisted in the gaming industry.
I truly hope that will not be necessary. Thank you for your immediate attention to this very serious matter."

I called my credit card and disputed the amount and won! These bastards tried to screw me, now what's up! I think I might even have my lawyer put together a class-action lawsuit against these guys. What do you people think? This is what i responded to him with:

"Here is some details on your site…this is being used and will be used against you as a reference with my credit card company.
https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-rooms-10/oddsmaker-com-ripoff-artists-98867/

Enjoy the reading you shady bastards! I have a lawyer who will not only take care of the disputed amount but will be more than happy to put a case or a class action lawsuit against your company. I don’t think we’ll have any trouble finding tens of thousands of people who were screwed by oddsmaker.com like I was (and the link I posted above)."

Oddsfaker is crazy at trying to rip people off!!!! I recently had some charges to my credit card that were not made by me, and some were double charges. I tried to contact them and I get some online gambling site tough guy trying to threaten me out of filing a dispute!!! I have my bank disputing the charges, but does anyone know, is there any truth to this federal offense for online gambling with a credit card? Sounds fishy to me!!

I dont see any reason why they can hold his $200 he deposited. Even if they found some legal loop holes to take the other winnings away, the original $200 he deposited should be given back any time he wants it. And as long as it is only the $200 he has now thats in dispute, how can they say that he ripped them off?

I have had experience with this site. Got the free 100 dollars, made some money, but not enough hands to cash out. Eventually lost it all with no reprocussions.

How did they get my mailing address though? I never list it online. Unless they are going to actual casinos and getting the information there. I am curious.

But, as you can see... the clear message is to avoid the scammers.
