This site will not last! Mark my words.. If you can get in, get some quick wins and quick withdrawals, I say good luck. But anything long term will very likely and eventually lead to such things as being locked out of PayPal and the site closing with all funds.

Yes normally paypal doesn't allow their funds for gambling but I heard they have an agreement, or loophole, with PayPal. It is allowed because you buy gold coins or something, and then buy in with those. Not sure exactly, but this was the first thing I looked up when I heard about a site that allows gambling through PayPal. I haven't actually played at GP yet, but I did research how they were able to allow funds transferred for gambling, and it was something to do with what I said above. I could be wrong, as I am paraphrasing what I read about 6 months ago. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Global poker

I’m from Oklahoma and because of the laws regulating online poker you can’t play at any of the most popular sites however, recently while playing in a NL tournament ( held at a local Indian casino) I met several players who recommended global poker and four of the five said that they’d all been able to cash out easily and within a matter of a few days. I’m going to sign up for an account there and will post any info regarding the site from my own personal experience.

Cashed out $640 last week with no trouble at all. I put in verification took 24 hrs was in pay pal about 12 hrs after verification. I will say this. They better get more payment methods because there is going to come a point where paypal can and will start freezing accounts and such. I dont care what they say as a company, Many years ago I dealt with paypal with sports gambling and everything was a ok then one day they started freezing accounts left and right. I got caught up in for very large amount of money. It was finally released but soon after Paypal no long accepted gambling transactions. I love how easy it is but not having other cashout options is a recipe for disaster because at any moment Paypal can say no more. Once again if you do play tourneys you better be well versed in short stack play or you will get crushed.

Again, they use a sweepstakes model, which is allowed by PayPal. Here is a quote from one of their employees I found from a quick Google search, "Our sweeptakes model has been approved by both Facebook and PayPal."
Still, don't take my word as gospel, as I guess anything could happen, but I heard it's similar to the ClubWPT poker client that was around (and might still be).
I still haven't tried them, but might eventually.

Doesn't Global Poker use gold coins or something for their "cash games"? Since black friday I agree with you about the keeping a lot of money thing on there, but I would say the same thing for every poker site.

Gold coins are the play money. They use 'sweeps cash' for their "cash game".

Ah OK, i knew it was something like that.
I was looking into it a bit more after I made that comment, and saw it said something about each cash game pot is considered a single sweepstakes, or something, which is why it is allowed. It's all pretty interesting, but I wish we had more options in the US.

I like that they have a number of satellites running now. The only issue is they are only hyper turbos.Also would be great if they added a few more chips to the starting stack.
The site has really progressed though since it's inception.

Confusion around how to win $weeps Cash on Global Poker

How is this acheived via Gold coins... or is only way to do that by purchasing gold coins, receiving the $weeps cash bonus and building up form there? thank you

Global poker is pretty decent. The mobile App is pretty solid too. I like how you can play MTT on the phone. Makes it fun, versatile, and relaxing to play. Good site!

I remember last year Cardschat indicating they weren't too keen on Global and even deleted a post about it. I'm glad they've changed course a bit and allowed discussion about this site. Now that Global has earned some legitimacy (CardPlayer is pimping them out hardcore) I would love to see some CC events there. Is that a possibility?

seems to be a decent site, I'm not sure how there loop hole on playing will hold up, seems like its a target waiting to happen, on getting shut down, so i guess just enjoy it while it last, they seem to be able to operate with no issues wish all poker sites would just switch to that model so we could play
