The ACR rep doesn't seem to answer questions just post promotions and what not..

Oh well, I've been trying to figure out when their new software will be released for a while now.

It'd be nice to get an answer to this. Even if the answer is; "I haven't heard anything about it".

I have an issue with ACR shutting down my withdrawals & P2P transfers. (due to receiving a P2P transfer from another player, then being informed that P2P transfer are only for playing poker... but when asked "How much do I have to play?" I was not given an answer (just a bunch of idiotic responses, not addressing my questions)... finally one response said "we cannot tell you a specific amount of raked hands, player pts. or tourney buyins."
What is up with that?
Is it worth bothering to pm you about it? Or are you here merely to promote the OSII series?

PS - very difficult for me to want to bother with investing any time playing on ACR at all... when I have no clue if &/or when I will get paid! I need my confidence restored please!

I don't understand, are you saying you have not been able to withdraw money because you won mostly in their casino? And if so I'm curious, have you ever successfully deposited/withdrawn before this, or have all your funds come from p2p transfers?

I thought this was a very helpful and information filled update on ACR/BCP/True so I am posting it here:

BlackChipRep said:
Your concerns and suggestions have been heard and they have been passed up the chain. However, please remember that everything needs to be prioritised and anything critical will be handled before upgrades/improvements.

WPN have already specced out all the changes for the next version of the software, and most of the improvements being requested will be included in that upgrade.

Asking for the same thing and demanding a response repeatedly is just pointless, and does not help. The upgrade is already being done as quickly as possible. WPN and the software providers are working on it, doing their best to get it completed as quickly as possible. Requesting changes and/or improvements now is futile, because the major client and table-design upgrade has already been specced out. You would be better off waiting until the new software is released, and at that time starting a thread related to the new software and if you feel any part of the new software needs improvement, find a way to get a consensus and post links in the BCP/ACR/TRUE threads at that time.

A few points:

1) The micro race: The way this was set-up where the OSS sattys awarded such high points values for the leaderboard was a mistake, and next time a promotion like this is run it will be vastly improved;

2) The Beast: This is not going anywhere, we have notified WPN that the structure isn't popular with many players, but they have made it perfectly clear that they do not plan on dropping/changing it anytime soon;

3) The new software: I don't have an ETA on this but I don't expect it for at least another 3-4 months, minimum;

4) Mac client: I don't have an ETA on this but I don't expect it for at least another 3-4 months, minimum;

5) HEM compatibility: I don't have an ETA on this but I don't expect it will be ready for at least another 3-4 weeks, minimum.

Thanks again, I hope this helps.

Wow this is why I probably won't play on WPN unless there new software (in 3-4 months..... :/ ) is the bees knees.

A poker network that doesn't have the general interests of its entire community in mind is a failing one.

BBJ tables, The Beasts and outdated software have caused this site to have low traffic.. They still only addressed the software which is nice, but it's ETA is 3-4 months away which is hardly worth getting excited over.

That's my two cents

No, ACR and Feltstars were completely different companies. On different networks. Feltstars was on Merge Gaming Network, where as America's Cardroom is on The Winning Poker Network.

I've NEVER played anything on there but poker. I have an ACR account because my DoylesRoom account (started in 2008, had deposits & many p2p transfers) was moved there. I also deposited on ACR (via skrill).
I played a bit, & then received a p2p transfer from another player (I had intentions of playing more but the reality of it for me is > when I'm playing on other sites & then add in a tourney from ACR I experience lag issues on my computer AND I don't typically play unless I'm in at least a handful of tourneys at the same time. So.... I can't do this while on ACR & certainly can't do this on ACR alone). I chose to withdrawal most of the funds (leaving ~$100 behind on the site). It appeared to have gone through but was then refused & subsequently locked. (I can play, I just can't withdrawal or transfer, LOL).
After being informed that p2p transfers can only be used for playing poker (can't be withdrawn from account) I inquired (repeatedly) "how much do I need to play in order to withdrawal or transfer? What is the amount of raked hands, or tourney fees or player pts. .. etc. etc. ??" I continually received responses that refused to answer my question & instead kept repeating the same f'n thing to me (you can't withdrawal p2p transferred funds). I wrote in a bunch of times until I finally received a response informing me that they would decide 'when'. That I could try again at a later date & it would be looked at then (but they would not give me any specific number of hands, etc. etc., informing me that they don't have a set amount).
Aside from losing confidence in the site, I'm still stuck with ~$500 on a site I don't even want to play on (for reasons I've stated above..... same thing I told the ACR support).
Personally I found the ACR support to be extremely lacking in any poker knowledge & very difficult to correspond with.
I considered playing that nightly $25 $10k gtd. a bunch of times but it's at a lousy time of day for me to play. Also thought about playing their Sunday major a couple more times but even then, say I actually luckbox out a decent score in it... will I still be sitting in the same spot then? ... but more pissed off with more funds stuck on a site I'd prefer to not even have an icon for.

What does re-entry tournament mean? You can lose and re-enter??? lol... that would be like re-buying... except maybe you could wait a while to re-enter??? I wish all the sites would go back to the old way. You enter on time or you don't play. I hate late registration!!!!

Re-entry means you can re-enter, at any time till the late registration ends. The difference from a re-buy is that you pay the extra Fee, again. Also in a re-buy, under most circumstances you can immediately re-buy, but not at WPN, because in their rebuys you have to have less than the starting stack, not equal to or less than the starting stack. If there are small ante's you can wait till you have payed the ante and seen a card. Otherwise you can't, which tends to affect strategy and induce big bets to get do a quick double up

In both cases, there is value to the ultimate prize pool, allowing for bigger prizes, usually guaranteed.

R &A's create tourneys which need to be approached differently than standard tourney's.

New Software Features!!

We're very excited to finally post about the new software updates, as promised, here is a list of the new features that were included in yesterday's release:

  • Sitout changes: Same as fulltilt, you will now be able to sit out in 1 table or all tables. Helps players that multi-table
  • Complete re-design of the game client: Lobby, Table, Tournament Lobby
  • Text and content in the poker client has improved for a better understanding
  • Popping table should not steal focus
  • Columns were re-organized allowing a better navigation of tournaments (Noticve that the Tournament ID was moved to last column)
  • Changes in the tournament for a better understanding.
  • Pressed states (tabs) now have a clearer view
  • Relocation of Promo/Casino/Sports tabs to provide a better display
  • Addition of Ring Game filters
  • New table, animations and display
If you witness any bugs (not that you're going to), please send them to me and we will address them one by one as they come. ;)

Cash tables, How can we see how much rake per pot?
Used to be we would hover over the pot and the rake was shown. How do we do it now?

PT3 works !

Americas Cardroom - When do they add the re-buy/add-on money?

I was wondering about americas cardroom rebuy events. I've noticed that a tourny that has 135 players buying in for $3 each for a prize pool of $405 with a rebuy and add on option. The ending pool is still listed at $405 as if no one rebought or got any add ons? I even went so far as to add all the prize money together and it still came out to $405. I sent them a e-mail about this but havn't gotten a reply yet. I've seen it this way for at 4 tournaments that I took the time to check out that were rebuy tournies. Havn't seen any of the pools calculating prize money for people who've rebought or gotten add ons. Any thoughts?

Yes - there is no way they are not paying out the re-buys and add-ons - nobody would play in them.

I think they are one of the best choices for poker sites that US players have.

Changing the thread title and moving to their support thread.

Making an assumption based mostly on your post count here. The assumption is that you are new to poker. Might be a bad assumption.

If you watch the lobby in a R&A (re-buy & addon) game, the prize pool will change as the lobby updates with both position and re-buy info. A final prize pool can not be determined until the END of the rebuy/add-on period. At which point all the tourney money numbers are known, and everything can be figured.

Note the difference between a R&A and a Re-Entry (RE) tourney.

In a RE tourney, the site makes more money, each RE is charged a fresh fee. The total prize pool will likely also have a wider payout scheme as each RE is treated as a new player, and the payout structure will be determined by the total number of entrants.

In the R&A games, there will be a tighter/steeper payout structure mainly because the total number of named players will not increase, even tho the total number of actual (starting) chipstacks can increase.

Sorry about making this complicated, but it is not a straightforward thing until you study it.

This helped me understand it a lot actually. So for rebuys and add ons it lists how many people rebuy and how many purchased add ons. For re-entries it'll just list a player multiple times depending on how many times they re-entered?

Yes.

Typically, somewhere on the lobby page will be a running count of rebuys-, then add-ons when the add-on period is done.

Usually, you can click on 'Name' in a tourney, and get the list alphabetically, including seeing that 'so-and-so' entered 4 times. Sometimes that is very useful info. Seeing that 'so-and-so' just re bought after you busted him for the 3rd time at the same table, and here he comes again. (note here that IMHO, he should have waited a few minutes and tried to get put on another table).

Some RE's actually do have a top limit to how many times you can RE. I seem to remember a $1 RE where I tested that limit and found it was 12 times. But I can't remember where that was.

Also note that if a Guarantee is in place, the prize pool (and payout structure) will always default to that guarantee until the total exceeds the guarantee. The structure might change as more people entry, yet the prize pool might not.
