Just what makes that little old ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can't
Move a rubber tree plant

But he's got high hopes, he's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie, in the sky hopes

So any time your gettin' low
'Stead of lettin' go
Just remember that ant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant

-lyrics by Sammy Cahn

Cheers!

I hope that ant finds a lot of his fellow ants to move that rubber tree plant.

You people in the US (I live in canada) should really try party poker. Compared to pokerstars, Party Poker offers some very nice promotions (like deposit 100$ and get a 20$ tournament ticket), I never see anything like that on Pokerstars. One last thing, the deposit withdrawal options on Party Poker are very good (just like Pokerstars).

I live in Pennsylvania. I have been able to play on both betonline.au as well as Americascardroom. Hope that helps

Bovada also works for US players. Personally I feel like ACR is a joke but some people like it. Betonline isn't really a proven site yet, but the cardplay seems to favor good players vs donks which is nice.

For the non US players amongst us; Since the Fed has refused to take the issue under it's wing, the States are left to do whatever they tend to do. In this case each state in the US is equivalent to each country in Europe, or the rest of the world. Case in point is france, who fenced off France from the greater worldwide poker pool. Spain looks to be the next country to the same thing.

Somehow, the states who have 'legalized' OLP, seem to think they are prevented in some way by Fed rules or laws from offering their services across state lines. They are not. They wrote that into their own State laws and regulations. I'm guessing they did that to keep some semblance of control.

The main law in the US that hinders OLP is the UIGEA, which makes money movement to or from gambling sites extremely difficult. There is an old law, the Wire Act,( which has been interpreted to only deal with sports betting via telephone) that some want to expand to include online gambling.

Thanks for the info. We often wonder what is going on with On Line Poker.

Really what's wrong with ACR? I've had good experiences there so far although the player pool is tiny. I really wish bovada had bitcoin payments though. Waiting for a check in the mail then handing some shady check to the teller and have to lie if asked just sounds like a nightmare to me.

It will really take a lot of time until online casino gets an approval to be played all around the globe.

This american mentality is interesting. There is Las Vegas, no.1. gambling city in the world, but the online poker is forbidden. Maybe the cause is Las Vegas?

It breaks down like this:

In the State of Delaware, there are state lottery sites on which you can play online poker, using the 888 platform. You only play with players within DE and NV. They also have casino games for players in DE only.

In the State of Nevada, you can play online poker (only). The 888 powered site(s) there share players with DE. The other site (Real Gaming) does not share players.

In New Jersey, you can play online poker on 888 and Party Poker platforms, and in early 2016, a Pokerstars platform. NJ sites are NJ players only. NJ also has casino games for players within the State of New Jersey.

No other states currently have regulated online gaming. Some are considering it (CA, PA, WA, NY, etc) but all are a long way off.

Unregulated sites (Bovada, ACR, BCP, Carbon, etc) still serve most states in the US. The legality of that service is subject to debate.
If everyone would get on a VPN then there would be no problems.

You are not far off. The brick and mortar casinos tend to fight against legalizing online poker. They think it will take action away from them. However, it would actually be the opposite. Online poker is a training ground for new players, and a thriving online poker industry in the U.S. would create many more players who want to go to casinos and play live poker. It is short-sighted thinking on the industry's behalf that is causing online poker to languish in the United States.

Eventually, online poker will be allowed by most states. Some in the Bible Belt will be stubborn.

I believe like that the majority of american poker players simply don't care either way whether or not online poker is completely legal or not. .

I only play acr/bcp and full flush. I think it will come back eventually but PS and ft took a lot when they shut it down in the us. I know some of my pals moved to Canada just so they could play online.

As you can imagine its a very complex issue and nobody has an answer to this.

But having said that; in the opinion of a American living in Nevada who made the best of OLP in the years prior to the collapse and play live now, I believe the soonest we are looking at would be late 2017 after either Rubio or Trump are able to alleviate us from the current situation of massive government over regulation.

IMO

Peace.
