Hello Chatters!
I have been using Neteller for years with no problem at all. Lately, Winning poker network decided to stop doing buiseness with them and instead choose ecoPayz.
Some years ago I opened a Black Chip Poker account, because I was not permitted to do so with ACR, in order to participate in our events in ACR/BCP.
Lately it became possible and I decided to open an ACR account and stop playing via the BCP skin, because I was one of the first to participate in the ACR Stormers and couldn't benefit from it anything through BCP.
That is when all the trouble started...
I couldn't transfer funds directly between my two accounts - as I could back in the days between FullTilt and Pokerstars - and had to withdraw to some e-wallet.
I opened an account with ecoPayz and withdrew the funds from BCP to it. Thus far all was well. Then I received this e-mail:

Thank you for contacting the ecoPayz Team!

We are writing with regard to your ecoAccount. Your ecoAccount contains some information we need to clarify. We regret to inform that you will not be able to use your ecoAccount to deposit and transfer funds until this information has been clarified. It is the ecoPayz’s Privacy Policy to verify the information provided by our customers to ensure that accounts are not opened containing incorrect or inconsistent information for any reason, as this would violate our terms of regulations.

We need to confirm your identity and make sure your ecoAccount is secure by asking you to send a good quality photo of yourself holding your valid identity document and a handwritten note with the current date and "For ecoPayz" written on it. Please make sure that the lighting is good and the camera is clearly focused.

Also, we are unable to accept the copy of your address proof document as it is outdated (older than 3 months).

Could you please send us your most recent copy of a Utility Bill, Bank Statement or a Certificate of Residence – displaying your name and address and dated within the last three months? Downloaded bills and statements in PDF format are accepted.

I complied and although the selfie idea seemed extremely ridiculous to me I made one and attached it to my reply, along with a recent utillity bill. Mind you that I already had provided a high resolution scan of my identity card. After a while I received this:

We are writing this email to confirm that we have received your documents.

However, we are unable to accept the copy of your identity verification photo due to lack of clarity and quality.

Could you please resend the document in higher resolution ensuring all the details are clear and legible?

I was like "Whaaaat???" and replied that:

Merry Christmas.
I really hope that you are just extremely typical and not somehow making fun of me.
I sent a scan of my identity card in high resolution, so you can confirm my every detail from that. The photo you requested, no matter how original that request was, was to verify that it's a real person holding that id-card and doing that for your company, hence the handwriten note, right? Are you expecting to be able to read the details on the id-card via the photo?
I am sorry to inform you that my phone camera resolution is just that. Can't make a higher resolution photo, sorry!
I have accounts in a couple other e-wallet companies, no one gave me that much of a hard time.
Anyway, if you are still unhappy with my documents, please transfer my funds to my ACR account and close the account.
Cheers.

Several days passed without an answer. I began to wonder if they are a serious company or not. Almost a week later I wrote to them again the following:

Hello.
Have you still not reached a conclusion about my identity?
It has been almost a week since our last correspondence. I still await for your decision!
I am a very dissatisfied customer at the time. I created an account with your label in order to withdraw funds from my Black Chip Poker account. At that point no problem with my identification was pointed out, mind you. I did and after the money was in your custody, you let me know that my account is not complete. I have sent all the documents you requested, including the moronic id/note selfie! From the high resolution scan of my id-card you probably already know that I am an older man, not a teenager keen to that kind of behaviour. In other words that was indeed my first selfie ever! After that I received an e-mail from you stating that the details of my id-card are not legible on the photo! Are you serious? That was six days ago and although I replied, I never got an answer from you.
To conclude: If your company is a legitimate financial services one and you are not plotting to just keep my fifty bucks, either complete my account verification so that we can conduct buiseness together, or just throw the money into my Americas Card Room poker account, under the same e-mail and close my account with you. Please do so within the next 3 days.
If none of the above actions is taken, I will conclude that your company is just a fraud trying to scam me and I will consider my further actions.
Sincerely,

Today, six days later i received this:

Thank you for contacting the ecoPayz Team!

We would like to inform you that your last payout from a merchant has been transferred back to them and that your ecoAccount has been permanently closed in accordance with the PSI-Pay Terms of Use.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept any further applications from you in the future.

OK, not really nice doing buiseness with you, bye!
Alas, I opened in turn both accounts and the funds are nowhere to be found. On top of that, live chat is out of order for both skins, so I just e-mailed ecoPayz back asking for clarification.

What do you people think? Is this a legit company or a scham? Are my fifty bucks lost forever? What should I do?

Update: Support is running live again and we try to sort it out.
Meanwhile, to my inquiry ecoPayz replied that:

Thank you for contacting the ecoPayz Team!

Please be informed that we have cancelled the payout and returned funds to the Casino/Merchant. In order to check the payment status, please kindly contact the merchant.

Neteller and other service providers asked me this also some 3 or 4 pictures ok I send,
Should have taken another picture daily for a week if necessary and wait for feedback until its verified.
Know its frustrating after sending picture already but you have to comply with their security checks.
That wall of text after failing to do what they asked makes you look really bad and is not necessary to be honest PsychoVas.

I did what they asked to the best of my abilities. That is not failure. I cannot find a 25Mpixel selfie camera in order for them to be able to read the details of a document on a photograph of me holding it. For that, I provided them with a high resolution scan of the document. Did you really take a picture of you holding your id-card where details were legible? What kind of camera did you use?
Furthermore, they did ask for all that after they had my funds in their custody, not before. And after all that, when I asked them to either settle for what I can provide or transfer the funds to my poker account and get rid of me, they said they did but funds do not show! Do you still think that my rap was undew?
Neteller asked me for a high resolution scan of my id, a utillity bill and a bank statement. After that, they verified the bank account by sending me a tiny amount which I had to provide in order to verify the account. That is serious stuff, not some moronic selfie with a note!
One more thing, everytime I logged in to them, they sent a verification code via my mobile, which is verification enough even for bank transactions.
I detest selfies and I really think that it takes some very serious photographic equipment, not availlable to everybody, to fullfill their absurd demand to be able to read a document on a photograph.
Cheers (with a glass of Bushmills Black Bush-no kidding!)!

I did the selfie thing with skrill already I used an old iphone 4s I sent more than one pictures as letters will never be legible if you capture your entire face.

I have use ecoPayz for around 3+ years now with zero issues. I am sure my transactions have crossed 20K USD so I consider them to be a legitimate company.

Here are my transactions totals with merchants from 2019. I am able to easily get a report like this as I get 0.05% cashback on all transactions with ecoPayz merchants from having my account linked ewallet-optimizer.

2020 01 06 191324

Take a look at these folks here. https://www.ewallet-optimizer.com/

If you are willing to link your ecPayz account with them they might be able to assist you in verifying your account and also gain a few more benefits like free Gold VIP Account for ecoPayz and also cashback for purchases.

Reach out via this email address let them know your issues with ecoPayz hopefully they can assist.

Thanks so much @Joeisi,
but I already got pizzed with them and they with me, so "Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept any further applications from you in the future."
Fine with me. If they don't want my buiseness, it's ok. I am the customer, mine is the power to choose.
Maybe as Hugh already thinks I overreacted, but I found the selfie idea moronic, especially when they wanted to be able to read details on it. Skrill asked for something similar, but they wanted to just verify that a real person was holding the id, not read it. They had the scan for that and they accepted the photograph at once.
I just hope that my fifty bucks don't get lost as they seem to be at the moment...

I was also forced to open an account in Ecopayz to be able to withdraw money from ACR ... I did it three months ago ... and they asked me for copies of some documents to verify my identity and verify my account with them ... after one week I could start using the account ... and the truth seems very legitimate to me, I have been able to deposit and withdraw money at EcoPayz ...!

It would be nice if just one shopping site would accept ecopayz as a payment option but i am sure there is still not one. Only gambling sites accept ecopayz so if you should happen to make money playing poker or gambling then if you want to get the money out you have to go through all that hassle.

Not so long ago the ecoPayz mastercard was available to all customers and not just SEPA region customers and you could have used it for shopping anywhere that accepted MasterCard. I bought a bunch of stuff on ebay with mines.

You are indeed correct currently merchants fall under these categories:
 • Forex & Binary Providers.
 • Sportsbetting Sites.
 • Casino Sites (Bingo, Lotto, Slots).
 • Poker Sites.
 • Gaming and Fantasy Sports.
It would be nice if just one shopping site would accept ecopayz as a payment option but i am sure there is still not one. Only gambling sites accept ecopayz so if you should happen to make money playing poker or gambling then if you want to get the money out you have to go through all that hassle.

Before moving money due to fraud and security rules and concerns you have to verify account first or account may be closed and funds confiscated on many sites.

Thank you for contacting the ecoPayz Team!

Please be informed that we have cancelled the payout and returned funds to the Casino/Merchant. In order to check the payment status, please kindly contact the merchant.

Did you contact the merchant and see what reference number was used by Ecopayz for your funds?

Yup. Here's ACR's reply (from the 7th):

Hello Vassilios,

Thank you for your reply.

We have already reported the issue with our third party and as soon as we have a response from them we will notify you accordingly.

Update:
I did as Hugh advised and I have to credit them with a very quick, almost immediate response. I conveyed that information to Winning Network and since then I am waiting...

Congrats!! I have used ecoPayz as well and, like others, I have found it difficult to spend my funds since the only merchants that accept ecoPayz are mostly gambling sites.

I have about $100 in ecoPayz that I'm not sure what to do with!! :):(

After linking my bank account, I managed to withdraw but it cost about $10 in Bank Transfer fees.

I guess that's fine since even Bitcoin withdrawal (my preferred method) has fees attached to it!! :D:icon_thum
