What do you prefer - when you play poker: Music or silence ?

Do I Like Music or Silence While Playing Online Poker
This may not be your cup of tea but I have played poker even while I am watching TV. It is not something I would recommend as you do lose focus on both the TV and your poker game. I usually do it when I want to catch up on the news and then the TV comes off.
Between music and silence...I prefer SILENCE since the music can also become a distraction. I usually find out when I get distracted when I start humming with the song...then it's time to turn the music off. I also shut off the music when I can see I am going to be in the money. All my concentration is then on the game...where it needs to be.
An Engineer I worked with, many years ago, kept on telling me and other employees he worked with, Quote, "I can only peel one potato at a time, only computers can multi-task. I will not comply, I will not be assimilated".

Despite playing online poker for many years, I've never really thought about this. I usually have silence or background noise and conversations when I play, but I've rarely tried playing while listen to music. If I'm by myself with no one nearby to possibly distract and grinding by playing multiple tables, then maybe listening to music and being in my zone would be the way to go?
When playing in person, I'm definitely prefer no music/silence to better focus on my hand, table, and what's going on around me (or at least the house music in the room if it's to my liking).

i love listening to music and vape a bit dope when i play :icon_rr:
a good synthwave/retrowave mix does it for me or a bit melodic techno. it also calms me down when i loose money in poker also sometimes im listening to a bit relaxation and zen music

I always play with music, but interestingly enough today I was playing and I had no music on just my window open (birds chirping outside). I began talking to myself as I often do lol, I found this may have improved my game. I was so much more focused and generally making better decisions....
I'll definitely have to experiment with this, but I definitively think no music may actually better in terms of focus and walking through the hand and your opponents actions IMO.
