Corona virus

Do you guys think more people are playing online vs live due to Coronavirus?
Definitely, and I'm one of them but holy, I still get bored from self isolating even from playing 3 different sites.

I definitely think we'll see an increase in the online poker volume, but not by a crazy amount

yes, people are at home and have more free time, online poker is a great way to stay entertained

but, people are limited now in disposable income, so a lot of players who would normally have a small gambling budget for poker no longer have that

One thing's for sure, I'm going to be streaming a lot more online poker due to corona virus, because what else does one do when they Love Poker, and aren't allowed to leave their house???

If you wanna join me for some company while you enjoy your sessions, I'll be at http://twitch.tv/gripsed every day :)

hope everyone is staying healthy and being positive :icon_prof

Some game forms seem to get much more of the extra activity than others though. The Zoom tables on Stars have only seen a small increase in the number of players, but traditional cash tables are seeing a ton more action, and tournaments are vastly exceeding the guarantied price pools. Right now I am playing a 4.4$ "big" with a guarantied price pool of 2k, but it actually reached 4.850$. I am also in a 4.4$ bounty builder with a guarantied price pool of 1k, but it actually reached 2.890$.

Yes it is up for sure. And along with that the games have got much better, at least the larger buy in games. Of coarse you have to realize that players that make a living off playing live poker are now playing online so it makes sense.

I am just happy this virus hit in 2020 where we have the technology to occupy ourselves. Had this been 1920, it not only would have had a much worse ending, but no computers to pass time or get vital information concerning the virus.

There was actually a flu pandemic in 1918 called "the Spanish flu", which was probably a lot worse than this one. For some unknown reason it mainly killed adults in their best age, whereas this one behave like a normal flue and kill mainly old people. One could also argue, that we actually get to much information today, and that this has caused the world to panic.

More importantly there are many recreational players, who are used to go in the casino and gamble for 200$ at a time. They will often not find it exciting to play online for pennies, so they jump right into limits, where they are completely crushed by online regulars :)

I confirm the number of players to increase and the good news is that many of them are not trained or very few. it is therefore the right time to mount your banckroll. some professionals say that it is as if we had gone back 7 years by comparison to the level of play. there are many people who are used to betting on sports bets or playing at the casino and who can no longer do it.

Coronavirus = more online action of all kinds, there are games that did not exceed 600 users and now in quarantine exceeds 3000. A crazy thing

question

in my case it doesn't matter, because in my city there is no physical poker club, or online game or not.
