You would think so but there doesn't seem to be an increase in people playing.... or is it just me???

Traffic does seem to be picking up now. It has been at least a year, since I saw a number above 7.000 for pokerstars 7 day average, and several other sites are showing the highest numbers, I have ever seen, since I started following this site in 2018.

On a more cynical note all these new or returning online players are also making the games softer :)

forced to move online

most of the poker rooms i hang out are closed. I came across an App call Upoker on apple store that provides home games. there is a cluster of poker community creating their own clubs and playing online cash games and organising up to as crazy as 1 million gtd mtts. all you need is find a reliable club on social media to join. i hosted a few tables with my friends.

I am currently playing on Stars, and I am finding very good cash game tables up to 16NL. I am currently not bankrolled to play any higher.
Wow. I wish Stars would accept players from my country :(

I definitely think the online poker world will see a huge spike. Potentially the biggest spike the online community has every seen. In my opinion with how this coronavirus is been handled here in the USA I think the world series of poker may even be canceled. It's only a couple months away and the quarantining of people is getting worse by the day. I dont see public social events resuming for at least a few months at best.

it will definitely cause an increase of players in online play. time to swim with the fish

Let's all be nice to the fish and let them have a few pots here and there so they don't all flee right away. Because with the amount of regs even at NL5 they will bleed buy ins very quickly.

This is good resource management. It will pay not to fish them to extinction [emoji14]

Phil from ACR said he's seen a big increase in traffic. He said that's why he had to pull some free rolls

coronavirus vs poker

Friend (s), take seriously this virus because it is very contagious and you playing poker on mobile and internet stores or elsewhere outside your resindencia, wanna know you can catch this virus until the handle of your door or gate the public bathroom and protect their parents in their resedencia, do not let them go to street.

I already played a lot of poker online, now that it is forbidden to go out on the street here at my age, I am used to staying at home playing poker

Coronavirus causing online poker traffic to surge.

I play at bodog network for the past years, primarily zone poker. In the past week, the traffic increased so much the program started lagging. It used to only 10-15 500nl, players in zone at peak time. It’s now 50+ most of nights.

This might just be the silver lining to Coronavirus. Live casinos might not be open for months. All that lost tax revenues will hit the countries coffers badly. So much so that you might see a few more States re-legalise online poker sites, then a few more and then a few more.

Online poker could be about to step out of the dark ages...

The interesting part will be, if some of those people, who have come into online poker or come back to online poker, will get a taste of it and continue playing, even when the virus worries subside. In that case this could be a turnaround for the industry after more than a decade of decline :)

i agree, it will be an interesting time for sure. some good things can come from this chaos. after the initial influx, it will subside some but overall number of players will stay up

I have also noticed the increase in the number of players this last week .... It is clear that due to the quarantine of "VIRUS" there are more people at home doing nothing .... and they prefer to entertain themselves by playing poker .. .!

The poker rooms have increased the number of players, we will see the numbers after this quarantine passes and how many keep playing.
