I am against the fact that players play poker in sunglasses! and I have several reasons for this. 1. Thanks to infrared sunglasses and contact lenses, you can easily mark and then distinguish the marked cards. It is quite obvious that this should not happen at the poker table. 2. Many fans perceive poker as a game in which body movements and non-verbal communication are important. This is what all the popular films have taught them – watch your gestures, eyes and everything else. In high live tournaments it's important to show nothing and if you are a player with much emotions, eye rolls and other things
that wil gives your opponent to much informations about your play or your cards
then you should wear caps, sunglasses and maybe a mask.

Personal choice. If it was a fact, all players would wear them. What ever floats your boat. I don't use them and rarely play with players that do.

If that is what a person wants to do, then good luck to them, Personally I think it shows a lack of confidence, when you have to hide your face or neck at a Poker table, and if you want to hide your emotions you should stick to on-line games.
We had a player who turned up at our weekly League game who thought he was clever and cool wearing Sunglasses, but was ridiculed so much he didn't come back again for about a month.
I could understand a professional doing it if the game was being Televised and the studio lights were blinding him from seeing the flop etc. But even then there are very few others that do it, and they seem to manage.

The sunglasses seem to me that its usefulness is that, to protect itself from the sun and its strong intensity at times of the day. Now in poker, I think there are people whose gaze or eyes give them away in the game, it is said that: they speak with their gaze. Perhaps that is why they protect themselves and others do it to look at the faces of others without them noticing that you are looking at them. I don't use sunglasses when I play because it just feels weird to wear sunglasses indoor but I understand why people do wear them and have no problem with that, however I do think wearing a mask/costume should not be allowed (yes it happened)
