Is it possible to make true friends at a poker table?

i met some people in an online poker room these days we are almost RL friends only problem we live in different states and it is hard to meet but on social networks in poker rooms everyone plays together and cheers for each other at some final table.

Met some good people at the poker games but it also attracts less savory people and narcissists so have some boundaries that command respect, keep loans tiny, and dont bother with people that dont reciprocate in kind, no matter what they say.

I haven't personal experience but it's possible I think.You need separate the game with human attachment .If you meet only someone on the tables he is not a friend but you can make a friendly conversation which is good though

Chatting with people is very different from wanting to make friends, and if you want to make friends the priority is to make friends with women! no doubt they are much funnier!

Yes but its hard because there is money at risk and sometimes ego battle..

With my friend of poker i make a deal everytime before tournament starts, i told him if i knockout him , he have some money back from me if i cash and viceversa.

Thats a good strategy for the friendship to go on

i learned the hard way that there are no friends in poker, my former best pal taught me that. i played a few times on a table that he was on and i didnt want to go against him even if i knew i had better cards, but he didnt feel that way amongst a couple of my other pals, they all go against me at the tables. later i realised they were no pals at all, maybe its just me and i have lousy friends never the less, when i play for real its just the game for me since that experience

Friendships are formed anywhere including poker. Sometimes friends do not like to play at the same tables. Enjoy the game, friends will happen on there own do not force the issue. Have fun
