Is it possible to make true friends at a poker table?

I ask because many times it is said that a player befriended another at a table, so many times frequent the same place.
In my case, I find it hard to achieve a solid friendship at a table, that is why I like to vary the casinos where I am going to play. So they have no chance to meet me and I feel calmer when I am in new environments.
Although the ideal is to meet the player who confronted me, to be able to gather more information about his game and use it in my favor.
What do you think of this aspect of poker? Are you really interested in forming friendships at a poker table?

I think it is said that you make new friends at the game table, considering that you play for real money. When it comes to money it is harder with friends. Yes, I agree that you make friends but only if you play on chips and not on money.

Absolutely possible. Juts like it's possible to make friends in other spots no one would think of. There's a show called a Million Little Things....characters became best friends when they got stuck in an elevator. Ya, it's a show...but I'm sure stuff like that happens all the time.

Players on the table are different. Some of them do not talk at all, other talk rubbish to try to tilt people and some try to be polite and extract information about you which they can use in their favor. There is also group who are there to socialize and relax and do not care about the game at all. I personally am ok to speak with somebody about general topics as far as it do not distract me from the game. I do not exclude the possibility to meet another player on the tables who have similar interests to you so that you become friends out of the table. If you meet somebody only during poker games and he pretends to be your friend most probably he tries to use this in his/her favor.

Personally, I have enough friends in real life, so I actually do not need friends online. But I think it is quite possible to have friends who often play with you online.
