I used to run a weekly League game at my local pub until Christmas 2019 and gave it up after doing it for 6 years, There were a lot of reason's behind my decision but the main one was when I was running the game I could not concentrate on playing my
hands, so I felt it time to start a new year without having to get there every week and play a more relaxed game.
It was taken over by someone else who only ran it for 10 weeks before the Lock-downs started, and I only managed to play a few of them, so I returned to on-line poker and have done well over the last twelve months.
I do miss the social side of playing live games, as many of the regular players became friends and we knew each others
tells, I remember a close friend of mine was playing a hand against me and I called his pre-flop raise, Checked the flop and called his bet, checked the turn and called his continuation bet, then on the river I bet out about half pot, He snap folded and said " I know what you are playing at, check calling at every street, then betting out on the river, you must have a Monster"
"Damned Right I do" as I showed him I had the nuts! But to be honest it was always kept friendly, We never got into arguments over a game, and if anyone had a problem they always looked on me to sort the problem out, mainly because I was the T.D. and had been to many
casinos to know what the ruling would be.
When the fun Stops, STOP!
