I really do not like seeing this .. it is not something that I do ... there are several restaurants in the hotels/casinos where I play, and that provides a nice break from sitting at the table and a little time to switch gears into something else ... maybe I look at the news on my phone or watch sports on one of the overheads while I eat ...

I think eating at the table should be banned tbh .. I have seen some very disgusting things at the table in the reference to food and booze and I don't want someone else's greasy mits on the chips or the cards ...

Two of my favourite poker rooms promote eating at the table. One in Arizona has a specific poker menu and a lot of wait staff hustling around serving food and drink. This poker room only allows a 5 minute break from the table, so players who want to eat either do it at the table or cash out and get on the long wait list to get another seat.
In the other poker room, in Niagara Falls, NY, they serve a free buffet lunch to poker players once a week. What a disruption that can be as 2-3 players leave every table to get food and bring it back.

So I play a lot of Casino poker. I can't stand when people eat at the table. It's more so the people that eat burgers and such with their hands and then lick their fingers and dive in to grab their poker chips. Obviously if you're eating everything with a knife and fork I don't really have an issue , Just the get their hands nasty then get the chips nasty type people. So Do you eat at live games or Prefer not to?

I personally do not, when I'm at the tables I focus on the game itself. I also don't judge others, to each their own. When I see others eating at the table, I'm tempted to target them a little more with raises or re-raises. Seems to me that eating has to be at least a little distracting. I like taking short breaks, like grabbing a snack, to analyze my playing, and think about what, if any, adjustments I need to make. I try to monitor myself carefully on things like, am I making good decisions, am I getting tired, am I betting adequately. Sometimes I'll have a coffee at the table, or if I am getting tense I'll have 1, and only 1 whiskey neat.

Yes ,sometimes. Where i am playing have a restaurant and i can eating. And have a good taste , so i am sometimes eating at table. I think that is not problame!

I find eating at the table to be unpleasant and a major put off. At my venue they will hold your spot for 30-40 minutes while you go take a meal break. Head over to the buffet and use some of those meal comps

Shouldn't be allowed to eat at tables. I'm surprised no one hasn't complained about card marking before now with it, easy to put a greasy mark on a card/ cards to cheat ..

When playing live I choose to eat at the table if I become hungry. The foods I order will be edible by a fork or spoon, I avoid hand foods at all cost out of respect for the other players and the mess it can create. Either I'll eat between hands or just sit to the side and finsih my meal while they deal me out. Sure it's not the best practice but I'm there to play cards and stay healthy too.

I read it for the first time just a few weeks ago. And there is a comment including this quote under every YT Video regarding Poker. It's so funny.

I've never played at a real table, so i don't eat at poker tables
